Interesting, Wanduring.  In my dialect, (a Friesian one similar to low German) there are the same "orders of foreignness" and the words are themselves are not too different from the Nordic.  They are words I have used myself but you have definitely given me pause for thought now on why I use them to describe this group or that group.  Hmmmm....
