The Numbers Game
Using Numerology For Self-Exploration

Sitting in math class or counting out change at the grocery store, one might view the number system as nothing more than a useful tool for getting by in the world. But many people have found a mystical significance in numbers that can lead to self-discovery. The Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Hebrews, Egyptians, Phoenicians, early Christians, Mayans, and Incas, all employed some form of numerology to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the universe.

Numeric mysticism can be traced back to Kabbalists over a thousand years B.C. Numerology as it is most commonly practiced today arose in Greece when Pythagoras (569-470 B.C.) began making some startling discoveries about the numerical system. He combined the mathematical disciplines of the ancient sciences to develop his own Pythagorian System. Triggered by his findings he concluded that "all is number," and that numbers are an integral part of the cosmic plan. Those who continued his work began assigning certain aptitudes and character tendencies to numbers.

Using this system, you can follow simple equations to come up with your own personal numbers. For example, take the sum of the numbers in your birth date to determine your "life path number" which explains your character, purpose in life, motivations, and talents. There are other equations to determine you "expression" number, your personal year number.

A sample of some generally accepted numerical attributes follows:

1 = Initiating action, pioneering, leading, independent, attaining, individual.

2 = Cooperation, adaptability, consideration of others, partnering, mediating.

3 = Expression, verbalization, socialization, the arts, the joy of living.

4 = A foundation, order, service, struggle against limits, steady growth.

5 = Expansiveness, visionary, adventure, the constructive use of freedom.

6 = Responsibility, protection, nurturing, community, balance, sympathy.

7 = Analysis, understanding, knowledge, awareness, studious, meditating.

8 = Practical endeavors, status oriented, power-seeking, high-material goals.

9 = Humanitarian, giving nature, selflessness, obligations, creative expression.

11 = High spiritual plane, intuitive, illumination, idealist, a dreamer.

22 = The Master Builder, large endeavors, powerful force, a leader.

Take advantage of the insight numerology can offer by examining the alignment of your personal numbers. The date or distilled number of your objective can open your eyes to patterns and possibilities you may have never before considered. Think about how you can use that information to help you chart your course.

Since I like numerology, I followed the link ... very cool

Natal Analysis: June 1969

Personal Year: 1

This is a period of new beginnings. It is time to make a new start, make decisions, and to forge ahead with the momentum of energy that has been building. The things that you begin now are likely to last at least nine years, if not a lifetime, so make your decisions with this in mind. You have an abundance of energy now that can be used for anything you choose. Health, wealth, and creativity abound. It is your turn to stand alone, assert your independence, and act.

Personal Month: 6

This is the month for harmony. Give loving advise when it's asked for. Re-decorate the family room. Go house shopping. Volunteer to help the needy. Feed a stray animal.

Personal Day: 9

Clean house. Go on a one day juice fast. Take someone dear to the zoo and have eye contact with the gorillas. See the interconnectedness of all things. Be grateful. Wear any color that makes you feel good.

Destiny: 9

The Destiny number describes the life lessons that we have come here to learn. It reveals to us the path we must take, and the role we must play to fulfill our mission. Often our choice of career is based on this vibration, and if not, then it will manifest through avocational pursuits. We may attract people and experiences into our lives that mirror the traits of this number for us, so that we may develop into our highest potential. We don't always welcome our life lessons, so it is a possibility that we may even feel an aversion to the characteristics of our Destiny number in other people, and we may ourselves act the opposite. In spite of the many ways we may choose to react to this force within us, we have been gifted with all of the talents and energy needed to fulfill our Destiny.

You contain all of the qualities of the humanitarian. Patient, wise and compassionate, you love in a way that can choose no favorites. You are here to love and to serve all equally and without prejudice. Others are drawn to you as a role model and it is your responsibility in life to be the embodiment of integrity, wisdom and inspiration. You are attracted to the fine arts and philosophy and you seem to have a direct line to higher wisdom. You will always receive all that you need. It is important that you focus your attention on service.

Cycles

The destiny is divided into 3 great cycles, each governing us for specific durations throughout our life. The Seed cycle begins at birth and colors our experiences through childhood and adolescence. During the year nearest our 28th birthday, we move into the Fruit cycle which remains throughout the middle part of our life until the year nearest our 56th birthday, and the Harvest cycle carries on from there. Taken all together, the cycles show us our particular path that will lead to the fulfillment of our destiny.

Seed: 6

When the 6 is the seed cycle, the child is usually given the responsibility of taking care of a family member or parent, causing them to grow up much faster than they are prepared to. They are often very close to their mothers, and are good to all the pets that follow them home.

Fruit: 5

Freedom, change and restlessness keeps you spinning through this cycle. Opportunities should be explored and stagnation avoided. Many journeys and experiences are likely, and you may feel as though you have lived 100 lives in this one. It may be hard to find an occupation or career that will allow the free movement you require. There is likely to be much travel, if only in your mind, and romances will many, although they all probably seem to have a just a few of the traits you're looking for.

Harvest: 7

Peace and quiet abound. It is time to contemplate and philosophize on the meaning of life, spirituality, and the self. While it is good to have someone to bounce your findings off of, it will likely be a single kindred soul, or even a loyal pet who will understand your need to "know".

Pinnacles

The four pinnacles reveal the high spots or heights of attainment that we are likely to encounter as we move along the path of our life. The 1st pinnacle lasts from birth to around age 28. The 2nd pinnacle lasts for 9 years after that. the 3rd pinnacle lasts 9 more years, and the 4th pinnacle carries on through the rest of our life. The peak of the pinnacle is reached during the next 1 personal year. Pinnacles are like sudden inheritances from a benevolent aunt, they can transform the prevailing energies completely and suddenly. It is useful to look ahead and prepare for our pinnacles so that we can maximize their gifts to us and shape them into the most positive manifestation.

First Pinnacle: 11

Much more is required from the master number vibrations, and some may handle the 2 vibrations more comfortably than the 11. The doors to higher vibrational realms are open to you now. Psychic ability is very easy to develop, and what some may call "magic", is a sixth sense to you. It is important to create things that benefit all, rather than attempt a commercial pursuit at this time. Create for the sake of creation.

Second Pinnacle: 3

Money, travel, friends and mind expansion are all highlighted and a birth of some kind is likely to occur, either a literal child-birth, the birth of an artistic creation, or the re-birth of the self on a higher level.

Third Pinnacle: 5

Adventure, change and exploration mark this as a period of exciting growth and discovery. Travel, romance and freedom of every kind of expression is the urge during this pinnacle.

Fourth Pinnacle: 4

All things earthly come under the 4 vibration and therefore, material manifestation is the end result when the logical laws of this earth are followed step by step. Insight, analysis and persistence will move you through every obstacle.

Challenges

The three challenges show us the major influences demanding our attention during specific sections of our lifetime. The 1st challenge influences the years from birth to age 28. The 2nd challenge takes over from age 28 to 52, and the third affects us our whole life. Challenges shape our attitudes and can affect our health. These vibrations that challenge us, cause either an exaggeration of the associated qualities or a lack of them, both of which are extremes which need to be brought into balance.

First Challenge: 1

The 1 challenge child usually has a misleading impression of authority or gender roles and especially of the active or assertive role. They may be raised in a physically violent atmosphere and learn to explode when their frustration builds. The creative impulse is often stifled by control or confused and tied to acceptance or rejection. The 1 therefore learns to manipulate creatively in an effort to gain love and in contrast, becomes dependent on those whom they are manipulating. One result is that they break away from parents and subsequent relationships in a kind of revenge, and feel resentment for being forced to break away. With the development of overview, compassion, and intuition the 1 can balance this challenge.

Second Challenge: 2

This is the challenge of sensitivity and self-sacrifice. Two's look for needs to be filled in others and attempt to fill those needs while ignoring their own, all with the hope that someone will take care of them in return. It is possible that a two challenger can manifest just the opposite as well and be preoccupied with their own needs, feelings, desires, beliefs to the point that other people are only here to fill their endless requirements. Balance is found between the independence of 1 and the self-expression of 3.

Third Challenge: 1

The challenge of ambition and will-power. The 1 challenge holder may feel that their natural will and desire to create, explore and discover, is being thwarted by external circumstance or authority. This may lead them to snuff out their own bright flame in an effort for harmony. The challenge is to acknowledge this tendency and to force themselves to forge ahead and assert their will against, or in spite of opposition. The key is to act upon one's firm decisions, making sure it is the best choice and then committing to the final outcome. The opposite of this is possible where the challenger is so focused on their own will and desires that they trample over everything else in their path. In this case the remedy is to realize that we are all sharing this experience together, and to act accordingly.
