Hiya Well I decided that this being a weekend of eggs.. that I would share a little bit of my past experience with those wonderful objects. You see, there is not an Ostara or Easter that goes by that my mind does not wing back to a time when my daughter was 2 years old and fascinated by everything. Her independance started in early toddlerhood, which led to some very interesting times! One of which involved .. you guessed it.. EGGS. She must have decided that making mommy breakfast in bed would be a grand adventure, and proceeded to collect 6 eggs out of the fridge (this would be the incident that led to my fridge being duct-taped shut nightly) How she carted them all the way down the hall and into my room, I'll never know... how careful she must have been in those dark pre-dawn hours. Breakfast then involved pulling open the blankets and cracking each of the six eggs onto the sheets, stirring, patting into place, pulling the blanket back into place and considerately putting all the shells in the garbage. Next, being barely taller then my bed, she called to me from the side of my bed in that sweet voice, telling me to wake up for breakfast. I recall cracking an eye and seeing that faint blush of light in the room (facing east and having an unbroken horizon gives me literally the first crack of dawn) and seeing her smiling face. I must have decided to bring her into bed with me.. my reasoning for rolling over instead of sitting up... Well , I rolled straight into those ice cold eggs.! I must have shrieked fit to raise the dead! Although, in truth.. my next conscious moment found me standing clear across the room with raw egg sliding down the length of bare flesh and hyperventilation setting in. My daughter had somehow teleported out of the room, no doubt propelled by her mothers involuntary but outraged scream of sensory shock... and I had no memory of clearing the bed at all. Was this my first lesson in levitation? or perhaps we really can teleport...lol I don't know about that since its a complete blank spot in an otherwise crystal memory. However, I do know is that the memory is forever locked in with the season of eggs. |
