This popped up on my "Ask Jeeves" page-a-day desk calendar today.
Question:  Is the bald eagle really bald ?
Answer:  No.

It gives more info.  Let's make it into a game.  Many of you are so educated about birds this will probably be a breeze for you.

TRIVIA QUESTION:  Why is a bald eagle called "bald"  ?

There is a scientific (if that is the right way to put it) reason for this.

Ding Ding Ding   Nan is Correct.
The Ask Jeeves info said zoology states bald means white, and these eagles do have white feathers on top.
