We have at least one baby in the society finches nest. There may be more but I can only see one so far.

Ok, so well still only have one but I am anxious to see  what this one will look like. The female and male society are so different from each other that I have no idea how the baby will come out. So far he looks to be doing good.

Looks like we just get one baby this time. The other eggs did not hatch. Course they are feeding him like crazy. Sometimes I wonder how his neck can stretch that big, lol.
I only get peeks now and then mostly they keep the baby covered and I can't see much of him.

I hope th little guy (or girl) is doing well. Are you giving mom & dad soft foods? They grow so fast.... it'll be out of the nest before you know it.

Yes, I have given them a lot of cooked egg, some aphids, and veggies. The baby is doing really well, getting his feathers now. He looks to be black and white like the male.

Well, the baby now looks to have all of his feathers but isn't out of the nest yet. He is chocolate and white- looks to have a bit more chocolate than his father(the mother is a cinnamon (not sure I have these colors right. I bought a book but it isn't the best book).
The zebra finch female is laying like crazy but the pair aren't setting on any eggs. In the next few weeks I am definitely getting back to the pet store for another pair to hopefully mix with these two. I do want all my finches to be happy. I may need another pair of spice finches too as these two don't seem to be a pair though they do appreciate each others company and sleep in a nest together.

First time out of the nest today!

I really need a new camera. All my pictures come out blurry now.

Awwww.
Try a new picture card. Maybe yours has become corrupted or is just worn out.
I love societies. Such a variation of colors.

Becky I got to thinking about them being blurry... are you zoomed in or maybe too close?... If I zoom with mine they aren't clear if the batteries are getting low or if the zoom isn't right... then other times I am just way too close with the zoom and mine get blurred..

this is an expert talking who can't even follow the written directions that came with the camera and anything other than the automatic setting has me frozen...
