I'm sure some of you will not have the same fond thoughts of rain as I do.... and lucky you who can rely on a downpour once in a while. I can just imagine walking in a nice warm rain and almost seeing the grass grow.  So folks, not only share the daily happenings but share a fav photo of what you consider a perfect time to relax and enjoy the day..
Eating a box of chocolates does not count...
Happy July everyone...

Indy insects don't have a very long life span so his untimely death was inevitable ofcourse a leash around your neck????? might hurry it on the way to insect kingdom

I have been so busy this AM thinking the rains were coming.... five hours later and counting!!

Gee......I'm feeling left out at not having a bug-on-a-leash story to share!  NOT!  That is just freakin' weird!  If it's ok, I'll just stick to bird stories for now.
Not much happening out-of-the-ordinary this morning.....so far.  Birds are quietly eating and gearing up for their morning naps.  Hubby's at work, kid is sleeping...  sun is shining outside - temps already 88 degrees.  LOL.....cooler this morning for some reason!
Took another video of Moe NOT sharing his banana.  Except with the cage bars.  the video is posted on YouTube. Link is below.
And the photo - Moe trying to freak me into thinking there is something behind that chair.  I hate it when he does that....

I wish mine would eat banana like that. Diana won't touch them and Murphy takes one bite and throws it to the floor.

I think Moe sees a big old lizard behind the chair.

The only thing Moe will not eat with a vengence is walnuts.  He'll actually lunge at someone for offering him one.  We've wondered for years at this behavior.
Oh...thanks Annie - for the visions of lizards....under my chair!  I was actually to chicken to look back there while Moe was throwing a fit!

Walnuts is the favourite nut, and then followed by almonds...
except for General who only will eat Pinenuts....

What a perfectly beautiful day it is here today!  Blue skies, about 65 degrees and no wind!  Naturally, it couldn't have been like this yesterday, when I stood out in the wind and mist to catch a bus to the store.  I want to live where it's like this every day!

That sounds good to me.  But maybe bump it up to at least 70 all the time.  If you find that place please tell me. :)

Can't even tell you temp here today.  Been downstairs painting all day.  That Olympic paint with no VOCS is great.  Probably won't do the floor in my laundry room cause need floor paint and didn't even see if they make anything with No Vocs.

Borrowed a circular saw and learned to run that.  I think I am going to look for a class to take for using power tools if there is any this year.  The Hardware store is my new favorite place to go.

Sheesh!  That's one fluffy cat!  Thanks for sharing, Barb!

Les, you are correct in that Moe would not even think about sharing his banana....especially with Tommy.  And speaking of Tommy - he is probably part of the reason that my birds 'observe' the camera so well.  His usual position when I have the camera - is to sit directly on the hand that is holding it......and talk..or make some kind of noise.  We are pretty much forced to deal with him as he's flighted and there's no getting away.  Unless he's locked up - then you deal with the screaming and fit throwing.  Bratty bird.

I took this photo .....my son, Randall .....trying to rid himself of the above mentioned velcro bird.  All it took was for me to get the camera out!  But I managed to capture the shot just before take-off!

Owww, I bet those toenails in the back hurt.

We had a line of storms heading for us about 4 p.m. yesterday. It got as dark as twilight and then the storm fizzled and split to go around us, then reassembled itself and went on to wet down some towns east of us. I was so disappointed. Our grass is brown and it is so hot.
The temp dropped from the high 90s to 75 in about an hour when the storm passed around us so that was really nice, but we need the wet stuff, several inches would be really nice. When the temp dropped birds came from everywhere to eat.

I can't figure out where birds go when it is so hot. They don't even show up late in the day to eat. Most of our sparrows, we have 40 or so, are gone. They will come back to eat as it gets cooler and will winter in my holly, but where are they now?
Annie

Oh, I just love that picture of Tommy and Randall!
For just a second, I thought it was a shirt with a pretty embroidered birdy on it.....and then, of course, I realized:  it's TOMMY!!
Just too cute.

LOL....That photo cracks me up! Randall with his head on the wall! Randall doesn't think he's "pretty cute". That bird gives him fits. Won't leave him alone if he's got ANYTHING in his hands....food, phone, remote, etc... Randall says it would be different if Tommy would "just not talk ALL the time" he's with him. And "sit still" once in awhile! Randall says he feels like a race track. Funny - these two have grown up together. In some ways, they are so much alike! Both leave me in stitches daily!
