Frog
Jumping from lily pad to lily pad, frogs demonstrate their comfort with both water and land. They begin their life cycle as a tadpole living underwater and later make a big transformation growing legs that are suitable for land. This amphibian also makes the transformation from vegetarian to carnivore during this process, feeding on insects that are plentiful near its water home.
If frog is your totem you will be shown that when you mature your world expands too and offers you more to experience. You begin maturation in the closed pool of your own heart connected to your family members. There you mature through the love that your family gives you. Then you go to school and learn other things. You grow legs when you are old enough, that is to say you let go of your parents hand and make your way having good adventures on your own more and more. Learning environments are everywhere, not only in school with the other tadpoles. The world offers you a lot of things to explore and learn from. Nature can be your best teacher and spending the day in the park can teach you a lot.
Maturation is a transformation you make physically, emotionally and mentally. It cannot be avoided. As your body changes you will feel surges of energy. Pains in your legs and the need for more sleep are common. Pay attention to what your body is telling you and don't worry that you are growing too fast. Let go of immature attitudes and your fears too. Leap onto a bigger lily pad and don't worry when you move to a new school that you won't be accepted. Have a positive attitude about the change. Growth is a continuous learning experience.
Frogs breathe through their skin and have the power to cleanse themselves of polluted water. Cleanse your heart each and every day by taking a deep breath and saying "love is the answer". Frog will never be far away when you are tired of feeling other's frustrations.
