Koala

Koala is a marsupial that resembles a toy teddy bear. It has a large, round head with large, round, furry ears and a stout body covered with thick ashy-gray fur. The female gives birth to only one baby at a time. And the young koala is then kept in the marsupial pouch of its mother for about six months, after which time the mother carries it upon her back until it is half grown. Koalas are found only in eucalyptus forests of eastern Australia where the Koala enjoys the leaves and flowers of a certain species of eucalyptus trees. It may remain in the same tree for over 3 days without coming down.
If Koala is your totem it brings a gentle message because it knows you are the sensitive type and that you need kindness above all. He will bring you peace of mind by sending you straight into your heart when things are tough. "You are safe as long as you remain away from who or what is bothering you", says Koala. Time heals and Koala wants you to know that retreat and space away from your ordinary activities is just what you need until your heart is full again. Koala will teach you through the love, respect and understanding.
Your feelings will be real important to everyone around you after you have had some privacy and time to sort them out on your own first. Maybe you have had a real shock in your life that turned your world upside down. Like a death in the family or another emergency that effected everyone around you. Or maybe you have just been teased one too many times at school. Awful things happen from time to time and that is a time when you need to just grieve or take space, close the door to your room and sit and think. You will then need your family most or someone you can confide in to share your sorrow and pain with. You will learn that the time you spend in intimate conversation fills your heart like nothing else can. Intimacy is the closeness you feel when you can say just about anything, like your worst fears, to someone you trust. They may give you a hug or help you talk out the thorns in your heart.
Koala wants you to develop your gentle side too. Never become too tough or proud to give a friend or little brother or sister a hug or a kind word or two. If love is what you want, love will be what you want to give.
