Sparrow
Sparrows are small-feathered friends that you may see and feeding on every corner of the inner city. Really they are anywhere people are. They can be identified by their stauky little bodies and gray brown tiny feathers. Sparrows are an unusual bird because they prefer to live with humans than out in nature on their own. The song of the Sparrow consists of cheep or chirrup notes repeated over and over. They sing year-round, although less frequently in August and on cold and rainy days. They rely on seeds from bird feeders and from just planted lawns. They don't migrate, preferring to stay all year long where they make their home.
Sparrow is likely to show up anywhere you are. You may even get close enough to have one eat out of your hand if it is your ally and if you hold good energy in your heart. Sparrow wants to show you how you will never be far away from nature, no matter how crowded you are in the city or on the playground. "Take notice and nature will pop up in the most unusual places like a flower growing through a crack in the sidewalk". Pay attention to your feelings on an autumn day, the chill of the wind and the colors of the leaves on the trees. Your heart will skip a beat to catch the rhythm of nature's symphony. Especially if you let your worries and your cares fly off on sparrows wings and sing as you walk around the block. "You can listen to my song in the morning to welcome the sunshine of an ordinary day", says sparrow. " I will put you in a good mood immediately". There are special moments on ordinary days if you expect them. Ordinary days can turn out to be your fondest memories when you grow older and look back on them. Times when you just walked and saw a sparrow nest up in a tree and wondered how long before the eggs would hatch. Ordinary occurrences of life can be seen as miracle moments if you hold wonder and splendor in thoughts.
Sparrow wants you to think of yourself as unique even if you think you are just another sparrow. Maybe you consider your hair is just a mousy-brown and that you don't stand out enough. Or perhaps you feel like you lost your identity because six other people in your class have the same name. Be proud of your appearance, your heritage and your identity. Wear them proudly. You are an uncommon bird.
