Vultures
These large birds are scavengers. They feed on dead, but fresh meat and are well adapted in their digestion to not be harmed by decaying flesh. They will flock to the ground to feed in small groups on an animal that has just died, cleaning the flesh from the bone in a number of hours. They like the heat of midday to feed and can often be seen soaring and circling in the sky using their keen eyesight and sense of smell to locate a dying animal in the wild. The most common vulture in America is the Turkey Vulture, which is named this way because of its bald red head that resembles a wild turkey. It is far smaller than the King Vulture, a relative that lives in South America.
If your animal ally is Vulture you will be reminded about the natural cycle of life. All living forms on earth whether animal or plant thrive for a time and then return to Great Spirit again in death. Death is not an absolute end of life. The spirit or energy of all life is everlasting. And humans have a soul that is eternal, it lives on and on. Maybe someone close to you or in your family has passed on to God's love. It is a sad event for everyone, who will miss them. Never think that they are gone from your heart though. Their memory will live on and on if you keep it there. They may come back in your dreams to tell you that they are happy. Not only does their memory live on through you, but their soul and spirit continues without you. And eventually will return again to have another go at life. Vulture says, "never think you are just a body". You are a beautiful spirit and soul that will never die.
Vulture will also teach you that good things end or die away in order to give way to new opportunities. Let go of old friends or your old school after you have moved away and create the new life you want instead of brooding about the loss of feel. Begin your new beginning with high hopes and expectations of laughter and fun.
