7 Important Pieces of Advice That Can Make Your Spiritual Path Easier
by Wendy Kay
You will have many, many lessons over the years as you develop your abilities and expand your awareness. There will be many messages you will receive and so many different pieces of information that will be presented to you. So, to make the journey a little easier, here are 7 points you need to remember that should make the path smoother.
It's okay to say "no" to a Guide (as a matter of fact…it's preferable!) - I always say that if a Guide tells you to do something, chances are you are being tested so think twice before following their requests. I have seen people (including myself) do some pretty silly things because the Guides told them to do it. I know people who have changed the décor in their homes, given away jewellery or other precious items, quit jobs, written to famous people, gone to places at certain times etc. all because it was shown in a meditation or told to them through a reading. At the time, they felt that they shouldn't be doing whatever was suggested because it didn't feel right or were confused as to whether they should do it or not but hey, it was a Guide suggesting it so they must be right…NOT! Your intuition is THE strongest form of guidance and it should take precedence over anything that anyone else says whether they be in Spirit or in Physical. Guides WILL test you to ensure you use your intuition to make your decisions. Keep in mind that what you are being told or asked to do could be accurate but it could be a matter of timing.

Timing is everything. You will often be told when things will happen but how often do those timelines come true? You find yourself waiting and waiting and still nothing manifests. Does that mean that what you were told won't come true? Of course not! Normally, what it does mean is that there is an element of timing that needs to be taken into consideration such as lessons to be learned, other events that must take place before anything happens, etc. When you are given a time line, it is normally from a specific event. So, if you were told that you would meet that special someone in 6 months you would need to know?6 months from what specific event"? You may meet that special someone 5 years down the road which doesn't mesh with the 6 months down the road prediction however, the 6 months would be from a certain event happening in your life. The key to knowing exactly when is to know the exact event from which the timeline is being calculated. Also, Guides don't normally work off timelines because they don't want you living your life by following what they tell you, they want you to live one day at a time to the best of your ability and to follow your intuition. You will usually discover the event after the fact and not before.

Write it down. - If you have been told something through a reading or through your meditation, make sure you record it in a journal or diary. So many things are dependent on timing and subject to interpretation and when you write it down, you have a much better chance of figuring out the "true message" down the road. You will be told what you NEED to know when you need to know it and if you write it down, you will have a great way to monitor results.

Practice the art of discernment. - When you start to expand your awareness and increase your spiritual knowledge, you will be exposed to a great deal of information. Some information will be wonderful and some will be garbage. You need to be able to use discernment to figure out what information is meant to be part of your life path and which is to be left behind. Experiment with all types of practices and then weed out those that don't "fit" with your own truth. This takes a lot of trust in your own intuition. You will meet many people out there who are convinced they know the "correct" way to do things. Only you know if what is being said is right for you. There are many paths to the same goal so don't think you need to follow one particular path unless it feels right to you.

Take a break without guilt. - There will be times in your life where you won't want to meditate, speak to your Guides, or be involved in any type of spiritual development and that's perfectly fine. When and if it is time for you to make that connection again, you will feel it in your soul. Until then, relax and enjoy or concentrate on what is going on in your life.

Go With the Flow. - If something doesn't seem to be working for you, then take the hint and stop trying so hard. When the timing is right, things flow. If you are exerting a great deal of effort and absolutely nothing is happening it may be time to re-evaluate what you are doing. Trying to control or force things to happen will do you no good if it is not time or not meant to be.

When you don't know what to do - do nothing. When you are confused and stressed out with a life decision or situation then take a break and forget about it. Go for a walk or go out and socialize with some friends. It is often during those breaks that the answer gently flows to you and suddenly, what was unclear becomes crystal clear. Sometimes, the doubt and confusion is there because is it not time for you to know what to do yet and you can't force the answers to happen faster.
So, while you walk this incredible path of awareness, remember these 7 coping strategies and life may become just a little bit easier for you!

There is a lot of truth here Ever....thank you for sharing it.

Getting the time frame down is a real bug-a-boo with me.  It has taken a lot of time and practice in getting a "time frame" from my guide.

I'm glad that I can realize one day that I haven't asked anything from mine for days on end...I remember Misty telling me something about not listening to my guide, to follow my own intuition.  I have never heard that they might be here to teach a lesson of some kind by giving us the wrong answer....very interesting.

My favorite part of the above is: Take a break without guilt. - There will be times in your life where you won't want to meditate, speak to your Guides, or be involved in any type of spiritual development and that's perfectly fine. When and if it is time for you to make that connection again, you will feel it in your soul. Until then, relax and enjoy or concentrate on what is going on in your life...
...If I could of only believed that a few years ago I know that life would of been much easier for me then.  Now, I know it as true... Most who walk the spiritual path will find themselves in this place, and the guilt and longing for that connection can be almost unbearable.  And who knows; it might come down to a simple truth; there has to be balance in all things.  If a person has spent days, months, years on their spiritual path they need to balance it with the mundane and spontaneous things that life off the path brings...It could be very  well what keeps us human, and of course, humble.

Thanks again for posting this....Love, Beck

I gotta tell you; I'm confused & disappointed ; I don't get it, why can't we "trust" our guides? Why would we even want them if we can't trust them? It makes no sence to me.. your possibly right but it still confuses me and I don't like to even think of them that way.
