Understanding the Children of the New Age

The first thing to remember is these children are different. They are coming into this world as wise old souls, very aware and intuitive, to help usher us to the full consciousness of peace and harmony. These children are used to working out of their higher chakras, whereas we in the past have been working more out of our lower chakras and are now working at opening, cleansing and balancing our upper chakras. The upper chakras are more involved with love, speaking our truth, seeing beyond our 3rd dimension and connecting with our higher self and the Divine. The lower chakras deal more with fear, stress, emotions and anything physical. The ideal is to have all seven main chakras in balance. We are now moving into a place where we are learning to speak our truth, develop more of a relationship with the Divine and our higher self and creating only love in our lives. This can seem a struggle in our day to day lives, since we are coming from a place where we have lived with fear and control for what seems to be so long. This is also where the struggle comes in for the Children of the New Age.

They are coming into this world used to working out of love, speaking their truth, very connected to the Divine and their higher selves. Now they find themselves in a place where the mass consciousness is still working out of fear! A place where people have a hard time speaking their truth and where people do not honor and respect each other - least of all themselves. You can see where their frustration comes in. They do not understand why we do the things we do, say the things we say and be the way we are. In a sense they see us living a life in denial. As they come in and start experiencing this in their environment, while their lower chakras are still not fully balanced, they start to fill-up with this very heavy energy. In order to release it many of them end up acting out the fear, anger and violence. You may see this displayed in many ways, such as tantrums, anger, verbal and/or physical violence and/or aggression, while some go completely the other way and retreat within themselves. Many of these children even decide that they no longer wish to be here.

As many of us are still coming from the old patterns of fear and control, when we see these children act the way they do we get very confused and frustrated. And when we act out of our past patterns with these children, it is just like putting fuel on a fire, it leads to stronger power struggles which can be very exhausting and draining. In the past we (as children) honored and respected adults because it was 'what we were told to do' and often out of control and fear we followed this. We learned (more like were taught) at a very young age that adults knew better, adults made the decisions and adults should be respected just because of their age. And if we didn't respect them we were punished. We did as we were told out of fear and/or control. Those were the days when children were seen but not heard. We were certainly not respected, because in the eyes of the adults we were merely children. It was "do as I say, not as I do".

Well, times have changed. These children today are here to make sure of that. They are here to challenge us to look at ourselves and our lives and make the necessary changes. It is time to no longer see them as merely children, but rather as wise old souls in young bodies. After all isn't the physical body just a vehicle? It doesn't tell what or who the person within truly is. If we judge a book by its cover we may be very mislead. None of this is about judgment or criticism, it is about learning, growing and changing. These children are a wonderful gift. If we open up to the wisdom, love and peace they have to offer, we will see how much we can learn from them. Try to let go of the ego and start listening to them. Let's see what we can do to help them, and what we can do to create more peace and love in our own lives now.

There are some simple techniques that can help these children. Because they are, as I like to call them, 'energetic sponges', energy work (especially cleansing and balancing the chakras), cutting negative etheric cords and deep breathing all help. Also teaching them (along with ourselves) to talk and communicate through the anger. Talk about what they are feeling and experiencing, helping them to learn to express themselves through verbal communication or some other type of creative expression such as painting or music. It is a good idea to cleanse their energy and the energy of their environment daily - if not more often. As parents we can do most of these exercise for them, but it is a good idea to teach them how to do them for themselves, too. It will help them become more in tune with their own energy vs the energy around them. Even very young children can work with these exercises, indeed I believe it is very important for them to start as young as possible. It helps to empower them. It is also a good idea for us as parents and teachers to do these and other exercises for ourselves, because these children are very aware and know just where we are coming from.
