Are You an Adult Indigo?

Do Adult Indigos exist? YES!!! They did not just start coming at rates of 90% of the incoming population in 1992. I believe there have always been some Indigos, the amount of which has only increased through the last 50 years or so. My guess on percentages is that Indigos make up approximately 15-25% of 20-30 year olds, 10-15% of 30-40 yr olds, 5-10% of 40-50 yr olds and 0-5% prior to that. That's MY opinion, not a fact. Some of us are here to pave the way for today's mass influx of Indigo energy, to break down some barriers and to be advocates and support systems for these children.

Are You an Adult Indigo?

Yes, You can be an adult Indigo. They did not JUST start coming in now, the numbers have just been increasing more and more til there are so many we finally can not igore them. Yeay!!! Are you an adult Indigo?

I believe Adult Indigos have these characteristics:

  • Are intelligent (tho did not necessarily have top grades).

  • Are very creative and enjoy making things.

  • Always need to know WHY (especially why they are being asked to do something).

  • Had disgust and perhaps loathing for the inanity of much of the required work in school, the repetition.

  • Were rebellious in school, refusing to do homework, rejecting authority of teachers OR seriously wanted to rebel, but didn't DARE, usually due to parental pressure.

  • May have experienced early existential depression and feelings of helplessness. These may have ranged from sadness to utter despair. Suicidal feelings while still in high school or younger are not uncommon in the Indigo Adult.

  • Have difficulty in service-oriented jobs - resistance to authority and caste system of employment.

  • Prefer cooperative efforts or leadership position or solo if expertise is valued.

  • Have deep empathy for others, yet an intolerance of stupidity.

  • Extremely emotionally sensitive including crying at the drop of a hat (no shielding) - to no expression of emotion (full shielding).

  • May have trouble with RAGE.

  • Have trouble with most systems (either emotionally, mentally, or physically)- political, educational, medical, law.

  • Alienation from politics - feeling your voice won't count and that the outcome really doesn't matter anyway.

  • Frustration with or rejection of the traditional American dream - 9-5 career, marriage, 2.5 children, house with white picket fence, etc.

  • Anger at rights being taken away, fear and/or fury at "Big Brother watching you."

  • They feel a need like a burning desire to do something to change and improve the world. May be stymied what to do.

  • Have psychic or spiritual interest fairly young - in or before teen years.

  • Had few if any Indigo role models.

  • Have strong intuition.

  • Random behavior pattern or mind style - (symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder), may have trouble focusing on a task unless of OWN choosing, may jump around in conversations.

  • Have had psychic experiences, such as premonitions, seeing angels or ghosts, hearing voices.

  • Sexually expressive and inventive OR may reject sexuality in boredom. May explore alternate types of sexuality.

  • Seek meaning to their life and understanding about the world May seek this through religion, spiritual groups and books, self-help groups or books, or individually.
  • If they find balance they may become very strong, healthy, happy lightworkers.

These are my opinion based on the discussions with other Indigo adults and my extrapolation from child indicators projected back a generation.

sons im 43 but my oldest son is 20 and my youngest is 12 and hes starting to
show more agression and anger at a drop of a hat know he used to just keep
to himself and his friends whom we was unable to see this could very much be
why the world is in such dismay u think with all the anger and out of
control i dont understand alot of it but would love to learn more on it ty

Some times when we have trouble expressing how we feel , we allow it to bottle up inside, this unfortually can come out in frustration and anger. Some times people are not even sure why they are angry. Try sitting down with your son and seeing if he can tell you whats going on, it may not work first time, but if you try to keep this door open for communication , in time he may feel ready to be able to talk. Through talking you both may be able to try and figure whats going on and causing your son to react in this way. Every action creates a reaction.

Im totally wowed by how much of that list I am. I am troubled tho by the one on sheilding or not sheilding as to emotional response. I have been practicing daily sheilding for 4 years now, and I still have serious crying episodes. I have seen the exact opposite in my husband tho, I think he has a better grip on it then I do my anxeity and sob sessions.
I'm  glad Myst that you took the time the other night after class to talk with me a bit, Im seriously considering counsling to get to the bottom of my trouble so I can move forward and live a bit "normally". Im thinking since I have accepted my gifts and are learning to use them, that if I am to use them to full potential and be worth anything as a reader I need to get to the bottom of my emotional problem.
Also I see alot of these things in my daughter and she is only 6!
Thanks again Tess

Tesssa thats great, you really are making positive steps in your life, so give yourself credit for coming this far. I feel we are put through experiences to learn, how can we touch another heart or soul, unless we have at least some personally understanding ourselves through our own experiences. Two things will come from this, firstly and most importantly, healing for yourself, secondly once you have being through it and come out the other side, you wil have learnt many coping tools that you have picked up on the way. Through your experinces and working through it, you will have learn many tools that you in turn when ready will be able to pass onto others. Tessa set yourself achievable goals, small ones to start off with, work toward that goal and reach it. Then place another goal and another till you slowly feel yourself making slow but continuous steps forward. Take it slowly so that what you learn does not have to be repeated and know we wil be there to support and cheer you along in any way we can

What ever small part we can play, even if its just offering our friendship, know that we are here to listen and be a friend :)

Hi
Ive alway's been different.....and have experienced most of the indications you described , although in the past few years i have learned control and patience  ..repitition being my pet hate...i am 39 but from a young age i have always know the outcome of any given situation , playing mind reading games with my siblings was a great source of fun too me but scared my family...my vivid dream's were a source for bedtime stories enjoyed by my sisters.......so i'm guessing i'm in a 5-10 % minority......i have just learned how to astraly project ( to my fathers horror when he saw me standing at the foot of his bed last week lol ) ....i think anyone who is constantly in search of his own spirituality is indigo to some degree . Out of my 4 children my youngest two are gifted so i understand the emotions they go through and try to help / ease there fears as much as i can........
                    Blessings and Love

Isnt life funny, not only do we need to learn and understand for ourselves, we need to also learn to help guide our children and try to stay ahead of them for at least a few years, children these days are just to smart and growing up way too fast. Its a race just to keep up with them, i am glad people are gaining from these postings :)

Alot of time for Indigo's and anger/depression it comes from not just within themselves but its from outside of them...in other words they dont understand their empathy and that can overload if we dont understand what it is say nothing about how to work with it and not against it:)....most indigo's have issues being in crowds because of that reason...our empathy is so strong that we 'pick up' everyone! else's stuff they bring /carry around with them.  And how stressfull is shopping around this time of the year?...ppl bring and leave alot of stress and anger in the lines while they are waiting ....alot of negative energy that we end up sifting and changing for the better.
Blessings of love and brightlight wonderful souls,
Undoubtedwolf
