Lavender Besides the theraputic aromatherapy benifits of lavender, lavender also is benificial made into a tea. The hot infusion can help to relieve tension headaches, nervous exhaustion or during labor. Also helps with colic in babies and for indigestion. Give a weak infusion (1 part infusion to 3 parts water dilution) to babies for colic, irritability, and excitement. Once again Lavender is the perfect womans herb today, with all the stress we have in our daily lives. |

I have some lavender buds and wanted to make something with them. I had seen somewhere a way to soak them in witch hazel to make a toner, but can't find it again. Or does anyone know a way to make essential oil with them? Thanks PixieShirl |

PixieShirl, making an essential oil wouldnt be a possibility unless you had the right equiptment for it. Its cheaper to buy it instead. To make a toner with the lavender and witch hazel, take a clean jar with a tight fitted lid. A mason jar would work great. Fill the jar with the witch hazel and put in the lavender until the lavender is completly packed inside. Trying to leave no air space. Yet you want the lavender to be completely submerged. Set it in a dry cool place for a couple of weeks, shaking the jar every few days. Once this is done, strain the contents and put the liquid into another clean jar and enjoy. Hope this helps Gaia/Nesting |

Shine, I havnt heard anywhere that it is harmful. I used lavendar during my first pregnancy, (made the awful mistake of using it during morning sickness, and to this day i cant be around lavander without rememering!!!) I didnt use it with my second. What a wonderful month to be in! Your not huge and waddling, and the feeling of the babe in your tummy is becoming stronger....becoming real. Many Blessings you you and your family. Nesting |

LOL, now i know why you asked, as a previous posting said avoid high doses. As long as you follow the packaged directions of what you are using, it will be ok. |
