Chamomile

 

Chamomile is one of my favorite herbs. I use it for almost everything, for tea, for baths, and for ointment creams. Did you know those homeopathic teething tablets are made of chamomile?

 

The infusion (tea) is used for insomnia, anxiety, and stress. Some less known uses for chamomile tea are for irritable bowel syndrome, poor appitite, and indigestion.

 

The ointment is great in an herbal first aid kit for insect bites and minor wounds and scratches. And for anyone with eczema this ointment is great when it itches.

 

An inhalation helps with hay fever, asthma, and bronchitis.

 

I only recommend drinking one cup, three times a day. I have noticed that any more than one cup at a time causes nausea.

 

Another warning, for all those who would like to try this if you are allergic to the daisy take care as these are cousins in the plant family.
