Hello Shybullfrog,

I have a few herbs that you might like to try. I use these ones myself on a regular basis, especially when Im feeling down. But one thing first. Are you male or female? I ask this cause herbs affect gender differently. I will assume (hoping it doesnt make an a## out of  u and me, LOL) that you are female.
Raspberry Leaf Tea, made from the leaves is great to help balance hormones. Ive noticed that hormones are the number 1 leading cause of depression.! Out of all the  herbs RaspberryLeaf Tea is a great womans herb, its good for just about every ailment a woman has, from childbirth to PMS. If you look, there is a posting on it. Out of my experience using it, it takes about 2 weeks to a month to start noticing any real benifits. But that is the same with any herb. They act slower, are gentler on the system allowing your body to slowly adapt to it and use it. Which is quite the opposite with any chemical drug, which works immediatly. So if you do plan to do herbal treatments my advice is to be patient and the results wont fail you.
Chamomile is another common herb that is great to use at night before bed to help relax you. This will help ensure that you have a good nights sleep. Rest is the most benifical thing for your body. When I was depressed I noticed my sleeping habits were horrible, LOL.
If you want to combine Raspberry and Chamomile so you are not drinking so many cups of tea, that is ok too. They mix well and the flavour of them combined makes a nice taste.
In the mornings if you are feeling fatigue or lack of energy use Rosemary tea. You cant find this in the grocery store so you'll have to go to a herb store for this, or do what i did and buy the whole plant!! Just running your hand over it leaves the scent. The smell is known to help with fatigue, so it is not recommended to take rosemary tea at night! Or you will find yourself having troubles getting to sleep. Again, use a tablespoon and steep for about 5-10 minutes.
With these herbs alone used through out the day should help you some. I only recommend taking a cup of each a day. A cup of Rosemary in the morning, a cup of Raspberry leaf in afternoon, and a cup of chamomile in night. You can drink up to three cups of each a day, but that is only in case of emergencies, like three days before your period. When you are off your period, go back to a cup. I say this cause too much as with anything isnt good for the body.
If you buy the prepackaged teas use two bags in one cup. Let steep for about 5 minutes. If using fresh, use only 1 tbsp per cup. If you dont have a tea stainer, use coffee filters. I add it to the middle of the filter, bundle it up, twist it and let it sit in the hot water.
I hope this helps you feel better and lead a more normal life. Again be patient. Within a month you should start noticing some change.

thankyou for your replies, i thought id replied to this post, but i dont know what ive done, its not here, the only worries i have are will these interfere, or are you able to take these teas and herbs in combination with your medication. i used to take womens 30 plus but went off of them in case, as on one of the leaflets it said something about vitamins or supplements?, i am very keen to try other forms of help, i was watching a health show on foxtel and they talked of replacing caffinated drinks with herbal teas, which id like to try and start doing...

Out of all my research I have not seen any cautions about the herbs i mentioned. I did not mention using any that I had known to affect medications. St johns wort being among them. Lessens the affects of the medication. Have  you spoken to your doctor? What has he said? Anyway I will check out the herbs I mentioned again, and see if I cant find any research that has been done, K?
