Not sure if this belongs here or on another board, but wanted to share this for those who have a tough time beginning Meditation or Journaling. I started with this. It was very helpful in getting to know me and is still helpful when I want to really focus on me or something that I may need more insight to or help with.
Start with a prayer to Higher Power, I use the Serenity Prayer. Then have a writing tablet and begin with Dear Higher Power, God, Creator, whatever may suit you. Then I Thank My Higher Power for the blessings in my life and for the Guidance that has been given to me. Add whatever you are thankful for. I then ask for clarity, guidance, strength, whatever it is you may be seeking at that time. You can add family members, friends, problems, solutions. Use names to make it more personal, specifics of what you are thankful for or asking guidance about, even people that you may have resentments towards. I also always let my Higher Power know that I am grateful they are part of my life and for the lessons they have taught me.
Can end it with Asking Thy will be done in (names) lives.
Give to (names) as you have given to me.
Sign off with your name at the end. Re read what you have written, fold as if you are going to mail, Put to whomever your Higher Power is, who it is From: Your name and either shred it or save in Journal.
This has helped me to focus on myself so that I am more useful to myself and others. Has helped me to see things with clarity and to direct my thinking where it needs to be. It has also helped to connect me spiritually with My Higher Power and the messages and lessons they are giving.
