MENTAL MEDIUMSHIP

We must remember that we are Spirit here and now and that we have the ability to see,hear,smell and touch. It is similar in the Spirit world but without a physical form. When Spirit communicate with each other they use the mind - telepathy. We can liken it to tuning into a radio.

This method of working will depend on the intelligence of the medium as Spirit will use information in the mediums sub-conscious mind. In other words the medium will need to have words adequate enough for the communicating Spirit to use for the medium to work to his /her highest level.

Because we are Spirit now we all have a psychic ability, some more than others, dependant on their awareness and sensitivity. The psychic worker will read an individual but a medium has developed his/her ability to a higher degree, therefore is able to communicate with an individual, and a discarnate Spirit. We should all know the difference when working.

ALL MEDIUMS ARE PSYCHIC -

ALL PSYCHICS ARE NOT NECESSARILY MEDIUMS

Inherent within every person is the intuitive sense; a sixth sense; a psychic sense. This ability to sense, or be aware, on a purely intuitive level is more pronounced in some people than in others, whilst there are certain individuals in whom this psychic awareness is so close to the surface of their consciousness as to be a natural part of their lives.

Psychics "sense" on a purely material level and are not able to "tune in" to the Spirit world, except by accident. Mediums dedicate their lives to continuous development of their ability to "tune in" to the Spirit world.

A psychic is sensitive to the electrical, magnetic and other energies emanating from an individual - aura. Psychics possess an ability to "read" those energies, albeit at an unconscious level. The energies reflect the emotions and state of health of the person and from this information, past and present events relating to the sitter can be ascertained. A sub - conscious calculation of this data will enable the psychic to forecast probable future happenings in the life of the individual.

Many future events are the culmination of previous thoughts and actions, which are recorded in the aura and will, therefore, take place within a short period of time. The majority of forecasts made, however, are suppositions on the part of the psychic. Statements of uncanny accuracy regarding an individuals past and present affairs can lead to a gullible acceptance of everything being given. This emphasises the tremendous need for care and integrity on the part of the psychic.

A psychic uses a natural ability to "read" body language, facial expressions, complexion, nervous gestations or twitches, hand movements, dress/colour sense and so on. A large part of any reading will be based these observations, whether they are made consciously or sub-consciously. Students might also consider it worthy of note, that if a psychic can read the aura of one person, that the aura could contain information concerning others whose lives have been in close proximity to the sitter.

There are many psychics working within Spiritualism whose psychic ability is very impressive. Because of this they often remain totally unaware of the fact that they are working purely on a psychic level and so do not recognise that they are not tuning into the Spirit wavelengths.

A medium works with Spirit. A medium is the link between the material and the Spiritual worlds. A medium will attune to Spirit vibrations and then use the psychic energies available to work with the Spirit operators to bring forward family and friends with their messages of love and guidance.

A medium has all the abilities of a psychic PLUS the most important ability of all - that is, able through meditation and training, to tune into, and communicate with, Spirit people. It is a sad fact that psychics, who could be trained and helped to move forward that extra step, are far too often satisfied with the level upon which they are working and will, therefore, never become mediums.
