I am having a problem with not hot flashes but days of hot and I mean sweating hot while Honey is inder a blanket to warm up.  I had this before and it was a side effect of a med.  Does anyone else get so very hot?

I am always hot. I used to sweat a ton too, but that ended up being a side effect of Effexor. The sweating went away after I stopped the Effexor, but I am still always hot. I don't even wear coats in the winter anymore.

I'm always hot and sweaty. I have the windows thrown open at night while my husband is shivering in bed under the covers with the dog and cats. I sweat no matter what I'm doing and it drives me nuts! I used to be very active and an athelet too but something happend when I hit my twenties. That's when I started getting real sick having operation after operation 17 in total so far. I have always been thin my whole life until Fibromyalgia came into my life. Now, I weigh 166 lbs toooooooo much!

I just find that the sweating all the time is real embarrassing.

I didn't realize until I went of Effexor that it was the causing me to sweat buckets at the slightest exhertion. I'm still hot all the time, but the sweating is less. Just a thought.

I don't take Effexor (at least right now and if I did I will have to ask Honey because I never remember what I am taking now let alone before)  But something must have changed (must have been a med) because I don't seem to sweat as much or feel as hot!!!  Thank you :) :) :)

I am having the exact same problem.. so very hot but worse now with the humidity -- keep wanting to eat ice all the time to cool me off and that is all the time..(but a few weeks ago I chipped my front tooth on ice but actually it is cracked all the way up the dentist said - he doesn't want me chewing ice anymore but that is very hard to do)..  lately with the humidity I've almost passed out at least 5 times and just can't get all the way cooled off even in air conditoning (but without that I'd be done).. What is everyone else doing to control it?  Just curious..

PS  I had to stay at my friends house just to get through lately but picked up a used air conditioner for $40 yesterday and it is making a huge difference in here!  but still getting really hot - especially my head!

PS  with the air conditoning I run into another problem though - my hands and feet turn white and they're freezing..

Yep, I do.  It can be from meds,  like tramadol/ultram.  Plus the hot weather can play a big part too.  It was 106 degrees today here.  It's like our thermostats are broken.  That's why when we get cold it is really hard to warm up.

I hope this helps some.

Thank you everyone for your help :)  I have been researching it and I think I found the problem :(  Fibro has broken my internal thermasat :(  I can't regulate my temp the way it should anymore.  I have been hot and sweating (driping off my face sweating) even when everyone else is saying it is cool.  I am going to talk to the Doctor about this.  It is really frustrating when you can't even tell yourself if it is cool or not :(

I am so glad this topic came up i thought I was loosing my mind!

I mean yes its hot but I am sweating bucket more than usual even in the airconditioning. I have a Dr.'s appt Friday to check my med's but i haven't changed any latley so I don't know what to think. Haven't taken effexor but am on tramadol..Maybe.

Has anyone found their migraines increasing with the heat? What do you take?  I take Imitrex but it makes my joint hurt more so I don't like it.

Thanks, Anna

Isn't it wonderful to know why something is happening to you even when it isn't good?~?~?~ :)

Fibro seems to mess with the internal thermostat, what happens with some people is it can no longer tell when you are hot enough or cold enough.  The worse for me is the heat but then let's see what I say in the winter LOL :)

my thermostat is broken too, I sweat like there is no tomorrow..... then when everyone is all comfortable I freeze (uncontrolably shivers). I could sit on a woodstove and not feel heat till I got the blisters...lol

The doctor that has replaced Wonderful Doctor doesn't think this is a fibro problem :(  I am so tired I really don't want to train him, especially since he doesn't want to be trained, but I feel I have to :(  Anyone want to try and explain to me why I don't have to :)  I believe that if I let this slide then I am actually hurting the next fibro person that comes to him.  I have the strenght and knowledge so do I need to train him?

Or is this a new question :)
I think I will post it :)
