Hello All, I should have posted this a while ago, but my May has been extraordinarily busy one at work. I wanted to let you all know that I signed a contract with St. Literary Agency with Camp Lone Star. I had three agents interested in my romance novel. They were the first to offer me a contract so I thought I'd give them a try. One of the literary agents interested in Camp Lone Star, Sunshine Literary, based in Florida, is now interested in Sexy Bedtime Stories. Please keep your fingers, toes, legs crossed. I'll keep you posted. Cheers, Marie |

Open mouth, insert foot. Yeah, that's me right now. You know what they say about hindsight being 20-20. Well, I find myself in that situation wishing I would have known. Apparently that email I received from that editing company was only optional. So I had to apologize to my agent. But I told her I could not afford to pay for editing. Not even $100. Right now I have to pay for my cat's dental work and I have $250 in gift certificates for the vet my cat goes to but I have a feeling it'll be $400. My husband told me he doesn't want me paying for anything. That's what I've heard from many established authors. It just upsets me when these agents (and Mark did say this) say that not many agents will look at a new writer so they have to charge you. I don't understand this. Something about this doesn't make sense or sound right to me. I don't know where I stand with my agent right now. She may drop me like a bad habit. I'll keep you posted. Marie |

Good news, good news. Chalk one up in the experience column. My agent didn't drop me like a bad habit, but she did suggest we just work on selling Camp Lone Star. I think this is a good idea. I don't want to complicate things. I think one is enough to handle. She did say she had a note that they had my other Lathal and Malan novels, Sexy Bedtime Stories and Satin Sheets. So that's good news. I am getting what I want. My books to be sold as sets.
