Dale and Sassy, I lost my brother and his wife in a fire. I just found out New Year's Eve day. Here is the article from the newspaper. I am just at a loss....and am still in shock. Anita |

Dearest Anita, Although we spoke on the phone (and it was wonderful to hear your voice, though more positive circumstances would have been preferred), I want to express my condolences here as well. This news of your brother and his wife, and the way that you learned of it, breaks my heart. Too many traumas have found their way to your door. Too many heartaches have been placed before you. You are proof that unpleasant thing happen to undeserving, wonderful people, and I am so sorry for your loss. During our conversation, I warmed at your obvious love for your brother. You made me fall in love with him from your fond memories of his thoughtful heroicism, even in his youth. Your love and adoration of Don could actually be heard and felt in your voice. That is how I will always think of him -- as a hero. I know that the aching must subside before being able to pay tribute to him, as you so beautifully have done for your other siblings and parents, but I look forward to the day...
