WORD CHALLENGE
In the hopes of stimulating this board again, I'm going to post a word challenge, you can enter as often as you like. It will run until May 31st, but you can always add to it at anytime. (See Challenge board on the list). How it works: I give you a list of 10 words and you must use at least 6 out of 10, preferably all 10 if possible. The poems must make sense. This week there is no poem size limit. Poem style - your choice. It's up to you, whether you want to write structured or unstructed, rhymed or no rhyme. The words can be used singular or plural or as a possessive, but no other changes. Hope you all join in! ******************** Word List Treasure Diamond Wealth Gold Tang Second Spring Ocean Measure Caress Please note - your poem need not be based on the graphic I used (piratelady) for the presentation, you can go in any direction you like!

My Love, you are my treasure; More than diamonds and gold. My wealth is in your caress, And all the love a heart can hold. An ocean lays before me, And as I look out to sea, I know that time is measured, In the love you've given me. The second that you kissed me, Loneliness abandoned me. Our love is vast and endless, And will last for Eternity. anita callender2006 all rights reserved

Ack....okay Sassy you said I should try this so here is my go...lol I once went searching for a treasure Deep within myself I yearned to find the gold of time so I could feel the wealth... I left on a journey to find my soul Over land, sky and ocean waves I searched high and I searched low In long forgotten caves. My journey end it did spring at last As all of you might know it wasn't filled with diamonds, gems and most certainly not with gold. It came to me on a deep dark night Like a caress upon my brain that told me all I need to know to be a respectable human being. Wealth is to recognize that all Are equal to one another None of them are second best They are all a brother. Compassion, caring, forgiving beings all without any measure are the ones who are the richest and really sport the treasure.

My Treasures S. Cat May 30/06
My eyes close in sweet rememberance Baby soap tang, caress of my child's hand Years have passed, tears spring to my eyes This indescribable feeling, it's second to none
Diamonds and gold, no, I don't need them Nor a chest brimming with endless treasure I've had a vast ocean of hugs and smiles That's been my wealth beyond measure.

Thanks Anita! I was glad I was able to come up with something. I'm also glad to see one of our newest members doing our challenge, yeah AMY! Thanks so much for contributing! We need something to spark the members here! *S* C'mon the rest of you, get busy and write something or are you going to let this group die out? It would be a shame, because there have been so many wonderful prose and stories posted here. |
