Progress
Everyone wants a ruler, a yardstick, a popsicle -- oops --- a set of milestones to measure their growth against performance, much like Mom used to make pencil marks on the kitchen wall to measure young Studly's or young Ethel's growth as children
Well - we're all children still - and the kitchen wall has gone the way of Kansas and the ruby slippers; but we still want that pencil mark to show us progress.
Folks: Ya gotta go Inside - to see Outside.
Here is a
discussion by three sharp folks, on …………..Progress

How do you measure your progress in any task? If you are cleaning your house you measure it by what it once looked like. If you are trying to become a better basketball player, you measure it by your success in making baskets versus what it once was. You are always measuring progress by something that is fixed in your memory. It's past versus present status. So how do you measure progress on spiritual path, or quest for enlightenment, or knowledge of the universe, whatever it is your seeking? It seems to me that many begin their search and get frustrated that they don't seem to be getting anywhere. I think it's because often what you end up gaining is more questions. We are all running in circles in life. Constantly seeking to be inspired, finding new joys, more hope, more friends, new love, more laughter, more knowledge, more creativity, and more security. The question is how do I get more out of it? How can I be of more service to others? How do I take on every task without fear or reservation or regret? I think we all feel this wealth of potential just dying to be released, and we are dying to let it out. Progress can only be measured by yourself. And often it's hard to see how yourself has changed throughout your journey. How do you judge your progress? What is it you want?

Who am I? What do I want? Those are my two toughest questions and I never could answer them. So I stopped trying.
Who am I not? What do I do not want?
Now those two i can answer or work towards answering without getting pissed. Why don't you all try that.

progress. hmmmm How do we measure it.. Where is it we want to go...
I measure my progress on a moment by moment basis.. I f I can improve over the last moment then I am progressing.
how far you have come and how far you have to go are not relevant.. spirit is without time. it is infinite So I do not judge progress by how many good moments I have had or how many souls I have helped…I measure it by the moment. this is where the work is to be done as spirit is the moment the living moment…whether it is a negative progress or positive progress it is still progress. the only non progress…Is non action. wasting your moments on failures of yesterday and hopefully wishes of today tomorrow ....
Living is in this Moment...... which moment do you reside in?
Thanks, folks
