From the "Protocol of Detachment - rusted Hinges on the Crack of the Wurld"

"So what steps do you take to make your beliefs actions?"


1) build your Etiquette; the set of rules and behavior parameters that reflect and represent Who you are and What you want in this Wurld.

2) build your Protocol; the set of rules and behavior parameters that govern your actions in every instance, every situation - with the Wurld (that are dictated by your Etiquette.) Repeat - all the time, in every way, every day.

3) then implement your protocol based on your Etiquette - every day, in every way - for all circumstances.

Travelers Advisory:

3a) - understand and accept the fact that you will be revising your Etiquette (and thus your Protocol) at various points in your life(s). These Revisions should never be as a result of difficulties experienced in the approach of your goals - they should reflect a "re-evaluation" of your goals - or your Etiquette itself. You will "change" on your journey, and you will encounter "failure" on your journey. Difficulties sustained by either "change" or "failure" should never be the rationalization to change your Etiquette. If what you hold dear changes as a result of experience, or if your goal changes as a result of wisdom - consider carefully if your Etiquette (and thus your Protocol) needs to reflect this.

Now, don't whine to me that the above is impossible or that it is so obscure you don't know what it means or how to implement it. I use it, and many others have used it - with precisely the results expected. These (above) are simple words, representing simple steps to take. NONE of the steps are easy. ALL of the steps are Personal, since your goals (the "What" in the "what you want" ) are probably different than mine or most others. Since the Steps are personal, the direction Has to be both generic and effective, hence the three basic parts of the formula.

The direction is non-denominational. It is NOT advice. I don't care if you follow it or not. It is Direction: if you do it, in the way you are directed to do it --- it will work. To the extent that you paraphrase it or weaken the directions with your personal weakness or rationalizations, you will also affect the results.

If you do that, don't come running back to me crying about your failure.

Obviously - there are many personalized ways to success, as well as the definition of "success". Just as obviously - since you ask the question "how" or you mention you're plagued with addiction; your personalization just ain't Working , now is it?

 Now, Even for the "unforeseen" circumstances, you can have a protocol - if you consider carefully what is written here, you will grasp an understanding. The Agreement to perform it - is between you, and you. The decision to follow a protocol - is a simple one.

You must grasp the direction that, if your protocol dictates you perform otherwise, you CANNOT rationalize weak and sloppy exceptions to your Protocol, just because you're sleepy or tired or hungry or lazy or the chick in bed with you is so hot you want to screw her anyway - or the drug makes you feel so good you're gonna take it regardless.

 

So your actions ...in Every way, in Every day - reflect two things per the accomplishment:

  1. you know yer gonna fail initially, and maybe alot. This failure doesn't mean you give up - it means you work harder at avoiding the situations and substances and people that cause you to fail. It means you may need to give up all your fun things to do -.

    Let me repeat this: in order Not to fail at your protocol, you may need to give up or avoid the Situations, substances, and People - that contribute in your weakness to your failure.

    If you weren't serious about your Etiquette, you'll run into that problem right away - and you won't have to screech to others about "How to make my beliefs turn into actions." You'll know how -and why you can't - and it will only matter --- to you.

  2. You know your protocol has to be utilized All the time - regardless of who dislikes it or whether it is difficult to do - because there is a Bigger picture that you have agreed to go see....it's bigger than dope, bigger than sex, bigger than candy, bigger than sucking up to someone just to be liked....you know as many ways there are to throw roadblocks in front of your progress at illumination --- they Will be thrown in front of you. You know this - up front --- so expect it, and act accordingly.
