w h a t i s p r o j e c t n e x u s ?
for those of you who have not heard, msn groups will be effectively closing on february 21st 2009, its replacement windows live groups will be opening november 17th but is almost surely lacking the features that have been so important to our role-playing community such as the ability to make pages of content. this news is shocking for some, and less for others who had expected something of this sort to happen after the removal of chat two years ago and the announcement of windows live groups last year. in an attempt to salvage as much of our role-playing community as possible the staff of cyberpunk has started work on a large scale project (known as nexus) to be a community hub and most importantly a suitable replacement for our style of RPGs.
l i s t o f p r o j e c t n e x u s f e a t u r e s (1) :: project nexus will be based by a community hub, which will basically be what cyberpunk is now. this hub will have its own forums, listings of all the RPGs hosted or networked with project nexus, support for managers hosted by project nexus, a full art section where request will be available for design of nexus groups, and many other as of yet undecided features. (2) :: project nexus will host a system similar to groups which will allow managers to create or move their RPGs to the new community. this system will be skinned in a similar fashion as groups to allow it to be as familiar as possible. our groups will have full HTML editors for creating pages and should be able to provide easy moving of current RPGs (3) :: project nexus will have a fully functioning admin control panel that group managers will be put in charge of. from this panel managers will be able to edit pages, reorder pages, and manage all other features of their RPG. (4) :: every group hosted on project nexus will come with a fully functioning forum which will be in control of the manager to create whatever boards the want, give moderator status to staff/members, etc. groups may also come with chatrooms and image gallery, although at this moment we haven't started working on those features.
s u p p o r t e r s o f p r o j e c t n e x u s for those who have pledged support for project nexus we have created the following button, as well as the information above. you are not required to place the button on your site, but we do hope you will so we can get more supporters and draw as much of the community to our project as possible. feel free to distribute the information above however you like, as more becomes available you will be informed personally by the project nexus staff. thank you for you support. Questions about hosting your site will be available through the MSN Group below! | | ---
