Well, since updating to windows XP I can't use the colored text options or post pictures in the discussion box. How do I get it back? Is there something I need to download or am I doomed to non-purple text? :(

Hmmm your operating system shouldn't make any difference on your usage of the functions here. Try this Jest...clean out everything from your temp internet file and then clean out your cookies and your history. Then reboot your computer and try and use the options here. If that doesn't work post here again and I will try and find you some answers. :>)

Dono if this applies to you but some people are having troubles with McAfee.  LINK  Also, XP in all its wisdom and fixes and patches and bandages has now got its own firewall (it came with one of the SPs).  I am updated with all of them and have no problem, but I have done some tweaks (forgotten along the way).  The major one I think was to disable windows firewall and use my own.

Until you find a fix you might try copying the formatting tags from this image onto a sticky note.  Then when you want to post something, just copy them, open the HTML panal and paste them.  Then switch back to the fancy editor, erase the line of XXXXXs and start your message.  You may have to leave at least one X until you start your messate just to anchor the formatting.  Its humbug, but at least it might have your formatting.

If it is McAfee, or a firewall problem I am sure it will get mended soon.

Well shoot, thats silly of me.  If you can see this writing in your color (I copied from one of your old posts), just copy part of it and paste it in a new message.  Then erase what I wrote and make your own message.  Again, you might need to leave the first letter.  As long as you don't copy anything else or reboot your computer, what you copied will remain to be pasted.

Alas, I have tried some of your fixes to no avail. HGP, maybe you could explain how one disables MSN firewall. Thanks.
