Friends say Dudley had really looked forward to his share of the bag as he had never had a potato chip before. Upon dividing up the bag, it turned out that there were only 41 chips and as fate would have it, Dudley was the odd man out on the draw, getting only a single chip.

     After wolfing down his single crispy treat, Dudley was suddenly seized by a cardiac infarction and dropped dead at the feet of his companions. At the coroners inquest, the doctors said that indeed, given Dudley's diet which was based on frying everything in lard, the single potato chip may very well have been the straw that broke the camel's back in his obscenely high cholesterol count.

     The Snoggus clan upon learning of Dudley's death immediately after eating his very first Lay's Potato Chip had this to say. "We reckon that Dudley done won that bet with that thar tater chip company an we'uns want his winnings." Lays is contesting the claim saying "It was just an ad gimmick..there wasn't any real bet".

     Since the Lay's Potato Chip Company did indeed state on national TV "I Bet You Can't Eat Just One" and since Dudley Snoggus did indisputedly eat only a single chip before passing to his reward, attorney Johnny Cochran who has taken the case is very confident that he will collect a substantial sum of money for the bereaved relatives. Said Mr. Cochran to reporters "If I can get OJ off with all the real evidence against him, think what I can do with this one !"
