Godwin's Law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies) is an adage formulated by Mike Godwin in 1990. The law states:

"As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one."

Godwin's Law is often cited in online discussions as a deterrent against the use of arguments in the reducio ad Hitlerum form.

Usually, when someone calls someone else a Nazi, they are retreating into ad hominem arguments.

I must admit that my fantasies don't tend in that direction.

Getting whipped by a liberal? Now that takes imagination!

I'm sure you can find someone willing to whip you while being dressed as a liberal in dissolute places such as Atlanta.
