I offer this as an alternative to the usual chili dogs.

Make the Sauce

Brown about a half pound of ground chuck.  Drain off the oil and dispose of it in an environmentally sound way.  Use a packet of French's Chili Mix or a jar of Tabasco Chili Mix.  Mince up one onion and add to the mix.  Be sure it minces.  (Easily found around Austin Peay State U. -- bad joke  )

Bring it until it bubbles a lot, stirring to keep it from sticking.

Add beans if you must, but beware the wrath of the Chili God.   He will give you gas, and cast you in with the sociology majors.

Get some primo dogs.  Actually, some rauchwurst or some other long red weenie will do.  Go for quality stuff.  Boil 'em.  Or bake them in the oven instead.  They're not choosy.

Serve these puppies on a little bagette like they sell at the Target.  This is a little French bread and it has some texture, unlike the typical hot dog bun.

A chili dog on a bagette seems quite classy and sophisticated.

Would anyone expect less from the gourmets chefs at Target?
