Hi!  From reading the posts I see there are some new oddies who would like some help in posting a picture.  I will try to help you ok?

Method #1:
Have the picture you would like to use stored somewhere on your computer, either in a file or just hanging around on the desktop.  When you are in the message box, click the little icon that looks like a pic of a mountain.  That's the "Insert Picture" icon.  What comes up is a bunch of tabs with choices on them.(It's called the Web Page Dialog Box)  Click the middle tab (called My Computer), then click "Browse".

Now you have to browse to where your picture is stored on your computer. Click on the filename of your picture and then click "Open".  Next click on "Add Photo".  And wait til the picture loads.  I have a dial up modem and it takes a bit for one to show.

If you want to use the same pic in another message (like an animated signature), open the Web Page Dialog box thingie again and this time look in the left hand column for the words "Sent Photos".  Your picture should be in there.  Just click on it and click "" again and there you go.

Method #2:
This is the old way of inserting pictures.  I use it when MSN is in one of its cranky moods.
This time the picture must be in a photo album in an open, unlocked community (like Odd People).  It's better to have two windows open for this - it makes this process easier (just click File, New, Window).
In the first window, have your message box open and ready to use.  In the second window, browse to the photo album where you have uploaded your picture.  Open the album up, and then click on the little thumbnail of your pic to open it up, then right click on the picture and select the "Copy" command.  Go back to your first window and this time look at the icons above in the message box - see the "clipboard one?(the Paste icon)"  Click that and your picture will be pasted in your message box!

Helpful Hint:
I have gotten into the habit of highlighting  my message and then clicking the "Copy" icon (the double pages looking icon).  Then if something goes screwy and my message is poofed, I open a new message box and use the "Paste" icon to re-insert my words and try it again.  I got tired of losing my thoughts to MSN's crankiness.

Hope this helps - it's not as difficult as it looks - Really!!!

Dear Bubbles and Others, Too.

I have not put any pictures in any albums here in OddPeople.  So when I clicked on the yellow mountain box, and saw the section called "my online photos"  I never clicked on any of the groups because I never thought there would be any pictures there.

If I wanted to add anything to a message, I would post some clipart.

Now, I recently DID click on the group names and see hundreds of pictures.  There are the pictures that other people have uploaded into the groups.  Groups I belong to are listed AND groups I have on my "visit" list are also listed, all of them have pictures.

So my question is:  What are the rules for posting all of those pictures?

Just because someone posts a picture in OddPeople, does it mean anyone can re-post that picture somewhere else?  That doesn't seem right to me, but I guess it's possible?

Superduperman, as long as the photo isn't copyrighted then feel free to repost it as you will. If it is a personal photo someone has put in an album at one of the groups, then I would get permission first from the owner of the photo to repost. If the photo is copyrighted then you definitely must have permisson from the owner to use the photo. Other than that, have a ball :>)
