So many people find themselves in abusive situations. I believe the statistic numbers are a lot higher than we think....due to some of us "keeping quiet".  Some of us are threatened or terrorized to keep us quiet. Some of us become convinced that what the abuser says is true. And some of us are too ashamed and embarrassed to let anyone know. I remember thinking," it would be so humiliating to tell anyone he did that to me." These are all part of the control that a abuser needs over someone else. As long as we let them have that kind of power over us, the abuse will continue.

    It really saddens me to see what this does to children. Remember " children learn what they live".  Seeing the family living in abuse teaches kids that it's all right, that it's acceptable behavior, that it's normal to live this way. Then when they grow up the cycle of abuse may continue with them.

     The hardest thing is to ask someone for help. I am so grateful to have made it through those times...and with my life.  Prayers for all in need.love and many hugs, Cheri
