This is used as Insect Repellent, Juniper Berrie's. Berrie's are crushed to extract the oil's. and applied externaly .
For face paint, we used Blood Root. The root was dried and crushed and mixed with water. ( This is especially good for Horse paint.)
To Whiten your Teeth, use sage leave's.
Wild Peppermint was saved for freshening your breath.
Wild lettuce will remove Wart's. Squeeze the juice from the stalk of lettuce.

This is a story about Medicine Woman.
When a Woman reache's Menopause, she frequently recieve's the Power from Medicine Man or from Vision's, to engage in various ritual's. Someone in need of the Medicine Woman's service would send a member of the family to her home with a Filled Pipe. The same way a Medicine Man was approached. The two discussed the Nature of the illness, and if the
Medicine Woman was willing to help the Pipe was lighted and smoked. Thus forming a kind of contract between her and the patient's relative's.
The number of Herb's known to my Mother and her Mother probably exceed's 300. I will tell you of a few of these.
Small Ragweed- for Trouble with Urination, constipation and child birth made into a tea or made into a paste for a compress to reduce swelling.
Sweet Flag or Calamus- peel the root and pulvarize , then chew to alleviate headache, cold, and practically every internal ailment.
The whole plant of Daily Fleabane- was made into tea and given to Children with Mouth pain or sore mouth.
Wild Beramat leave's were chewed and then used as a bandage over a wound to stop Bleedin, the plant was good for Whooping cough.
