Walking The Red Road
Our Creator has a plan for all of us. We must try hard to walk the Redroad, and to
stay on this path. We must learn to listen to what our heart's speak to us. We
must pray and let the smoke take our prayers to Creator, daily. In the morning when the day is new and at night before we rest. We must always thank Creator for our food and all he has given
us, as It is He who will always lovesd us and He who made us.
We must continue to take part in caring for Mother Earth as she is sick and in need. She
has provided us with all we need to survive. The food we eat, the air we breathe. We
must do all we can to make sure she can continue to provide, for the sake of
the children.
We must love one another. Love means many things. It is caring, compassion, and sacrifice. and to do
all we can to help each other. Whatever the need is, food, clothing, a warm
place to sleep, prayers or a hug, we do all we can for our brothers and
sisters of this world. This love is all the time, not just when we want to, or
when we have time.
We must teach the children to walk the Red Road, to care for Mother Earth. We
must teach them their heritage and their their culture. The children are the future, and
if we fail to teach them, their heritage is lost to them, and we as Native
Americans may no longer exist as a people.
We must teach them to walk tall, to be proud of who and what they are. We must
teach them to fight for justices of all our people ,as a whole. To
band together as one people, one tribe, and to put aside their differences, and
focus on the rights of our people as one. To stand together as one. To
be one strong as one To agree to disagree for the good of our people as a
one. To stand up for the protection of Mother Earth, and all creations on her.
We should never judge another person as we have not lived their lives, nor do
we know what their hearts speak to them. If anyone does us wrong, we need to
pray for them, not show anger. Show love and teach by example.
We must never disrespect the beliefs of another as we all have to listen to
what our heart's speak to us. We have no right to try to change their beliefs and should
respect them as we wouldn't want another to do this to us and our beliefs.
Always respect others beliefs, ideas, and pray that they will respect yours. Always treat
others as you want to be treated. Try to be the best person you can be, and
grow Spiritually everyday.
Always know the words you speak can have different meanings to others,
so always chose your words so they will not hurt anyone, as they can
never be taken back . Sometimes even though you apologize, and even forgiven, there can be scars
left by words can stay in the heart of those we hurt. Always remember
this before you speak and ask yourself if your words will hurt anyone before
you say them.
Try not to waste time with worry about things that one cant change . Keep thinking
on more positive things.

What is the Red Road ?
My own heart tells me that the Red Road is a personal journey
to be shared. Many may agree or disagree. I believe that to walk the Red
Road your heart has to be open to fault. You see with your soul, your
mind is open to pain, and you are guided by your ancestors. The Great
Spirit speaks thru them and thru them you learn what task you must
complete before it is your turn to cross over. Thru my journey I have learned
that I am not perfect and its ok to grow from one mistakes. I have
learned that others will try to judge you, but only the Great Spirit can do
so. I have learned that to open my heart may hurt, but it is the Great
Spirit that heals. I have learned that my faults are lessons learned
and taught to others. I have learned that no human being is reliable if
they do not believe they are so. I have learned to trust what is good. I
have learned that running from a problem will only make others suffer.
I have learned to bring others before me, open my arms to
them and allow them to share my abundance. I have learned I am still
learning. I have learned that what I have learned from my elders I must
share with the young. I have learned that being selfish does not make
me better, it makes me weaker. In my journey, I have learned that to
grieve is not selfish. To grieve is a way of passing. It is a way of
growth. Allowing the loved one to move on, the heart that grieves, takes
time to heal thru its grief. I have learned many things on my journey, and
I will continue to open my heart, and my soul, so that my spirit will
rest when it crosses over. This is the road that was chosen for me, and
it is a road I choose freely.Author Unknown
