Cherokee had diffrent ways and beliefs than some other tribes as with relationships, a man could have more than one wife . Usually little notice was given to affairs unless it produced a child.

    Yet adultery was treated as a crime in some tribes and was punished with death, There were occasions when the woman was taken out and tied to a tree and a group of the mans best friends would have thier way with her in an attemp to satisfiy her lust. A man who committed adultery could lose everything he owned.

The one thing about the cherokee was that they didnt want inter breeding so they were careful to make sure that any relationship was never done with a clan member since these were usaly people that were kin thru the women.
