I know there is a ban on bringing Christianity discussions on this site and will understand if this question is deleted with no ill feelings.  So, I respectfully ask the following:

 

I have read that a number of NA tribes have legends that go back to the time of Christ that speak of a white skinned man dressed all in white who came to them bringing a message of peace and love to all mankind.  Is this a classic case of "New Age" bending of truth for whatever purposes they have in mind, or is it based in truth?  I ask this only so I can understand how to recognize when new age is croping over into traditional lore.

 

If there is truth to what I read, how many nations does this legend trace back to and are their stories basically the same?
