From the time I was a young boy I had a recurring dream that I was a bear walking all over the place. As I grew older, the bear also aged and began a long trek up the highest mountain on Turtle Island. Once I reached the peak nothing happened for many years until I was in a Sacred Sweat Ceremony at the Yankton Sioux Reservation.

During the sweat I had a waking vision in which I was the bear, but this time when I reached the peak I was transformed into an eagle. Then I took flight and saw nothing but desolation beneath me and began to shed tears for what mankind had done to Mother Earth. As the tears fell to the ground rivers and lakes appeared and soon trees and animals again populated the earth. I spoke with the Medicine Man after the sweat ended and told him of this waking dream. He told me it was a very powerful dream and meant that I still had some important things to accomplish in life.

A few weeks later my wife of 33 years passed away and I became somewhat of a recluse and then decided to pack up and move 500 miles away. I have ventured into things that are new and exciting and wondered if this is what part of the dream meant or if you are experienced in interpreting dreams and could tell me what you think.

Your are just beginning your walk on this journey and as the medicine man said, you will accomplish much as you continue on this path. I do not usally try to interpet dreams...usally the answers come to me in a vision, but these are like awake dreams. I see the life you have now is not what you are looking for . You will find your answer soon though. If more comes to me later, I will tell you....... wado Annie

Thank you Annie. For many years I felt that I was intruding into another peoples belief system because of the affinity I have with the bear and now the eagle. Sometimes it made me uncomfortable but now I do believe there is something that will be revealed to me in the near future.

Siyo I know that most of you know we have a board on the side bar thats for you to ask Question of the Elders...but it seems I need to explain something else about it. Its only for you all to post questions of us, Greywolf and I, and we will answer them. Its not for anyone else to answer them. Its not for others to post to the message thats meant for the Elders only. When different ones come in and ask questions then others answer them , it starts to get confusing,,,so please do keep this board only for the Elders and their questions.and answers ...wado

The medicine man was right in the aspect that you have important thing to do, the eagle is a free person that can soar where others may not, he sees the world below and knows where the losses are and where we need to rebuild nature. Now the eagle chages you with this task, he waits for you to start the rebuilding in some manner be it small or large scale.

The moving did what it was suppose to do, it put you in a new life of wonderful things, now its up to you to continue on your own and if you feel discouraged look skyward and I am sure you will see the eagle there watching.
