Sister Billie, try contacting the local BIA office and see if your
great grand parents are on the roster. Some times if you can show the
blood line they can verify all the info.

Billie Sue, what surnames are you researching? Did we talk about Princes or one of my lines awhile back? My mom's family was from NE AR and Dad's family from Brownwood Tx. I know we've talked, but not sure what it was about. Been a long time, though, I know that. |

Hello, If you are looking for membership to the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, I have recently found that if your ancestors are not on the rolls, they will not accept you as a member. This would be the Talequah Rolls of Oklahoma. It appears that regardless of your lineage they will not admit anyone unless your ancestors are on the rolls. This to me is very sad. I wish you peace and luck. Walk In Beauty LittleHawk |

I am in the process of tracing mine as well, and I have been told that the best thing to do is to trace back 4 generations on all lines and then check the rolls. |
