Stones, Gems, Rocks, what ever you call them, they have a Natural Magick. They can be used for healing, protection, grounding, calming.. the list goes on and on. Stones can be charged by the Earth or by us. This is a (reasonably) complete list of stones and their properties.

 

Clearing the Crystals

Remember to always clear your stones. There are a few ways to do this. You can use dry salt (I prefer Sea Salt) or salt water (again, I prefer to use Ocean water.) If you make your own salt water, mix a teaspoon of salt in a glass or ceramic container. Do not use plastic! Also be sure that the type of stone you are clearing can be put in water. Not all stones can be cleared this way. Stones can also be cleared by placing them in sunlight, moonlight, rain, or buried in the Earth. Placing stones in full sunlight can clear them in a matter of hours, but remember that some coloured stones can fade when cleared this way. You can also leave stones out doors under the light of a full moon. However they may clear less quickly this way. You can also hang them from the branches of a tree in the rain which will gently cleanse them. Gems can be buried in the Earth (even a pot of soil will do) for a period of time. A full moon's cycle is best but not entirely necessary.

AMAZONITE Receptive. Element: Earth. Solid lt. blue/turquoise. Gentle, friendly, calming, soothing; Opens throat, heart, and solar plexus centers for self-expression, artistic creativity, healing. Throat, thyroid, nerve and brain paths. Reduces self-damaging behavior, increases straight posture of self-respect, confidence, grace, self-assuredness with communication. It works to provide clarity and insight. This works both for the confidence required of the good gambler and for the self-confidence building that leads to every success. Amazonite creates a feeling of power. It's the original "you can get what you want if you want it bad enough stone". It also leads one away from the self-destructive behavior that sometimes surfaces when we experience disappointments. Amazonite is the stone that clearly leads one to understand that "more is never enough". Great for any in a 12-step program of any kind. All of us feel aggravation from time to time. Reach for your Amazonite and feel a surging of peace and calmness flow to your heart center. Amazonite also aligns the physical and astral bodies. Many times we feel out of sorts when these two bodies are not nested together. If you feel disconnected in the morning after awakening, sit for a minute with your Amazonite and visualize your two bodies coming together. Clairvoyance, out of body travel, etc. Green is most powerful: Heals and brings joyous openness to the heart chakra. as it opens the brow and crown chakras. Clears mental fuzziness and channels for with higher-self and angelic realm contact. Helps see truth for growth.

AQUAMARINE A beryl. Clear light blue, blue-green. Tranquilizing, uplifting, openness, innocence, light-heartedness, creativity, communication, self-awareness, confidence, purpose. ARAGONITE Translucent purple-pink-brown hexagonal, or white needle crystals. Deep, peaceful meditation; uplifts emotions.
