Grandpa
This life has not been kind to him, this old man
that was my best friend friend.
These hard years had taken their toll on him, and
now his life had come to a end.
But now I go to memories of
the good days of long ago.
He would talk to us children on the days
Of winter's heavy snow.
His braids had lost their luster, and his feet
he said was always cold.
His hand were wrinkled , his eyes were weak.
It was hard for me to see him grow so old.
I`d tell him things thats around him,
How our times are happening so fast these days
How other children think I am so odd
Because some days I dont come out to play
I am glad my grandpa never saw
The things that has happen to all here
His family has all gone away from his farm
And I think it would bring him tears
I have prayed that he didnt have to see
All the changes thats taken place
especially I didnt want him to see
All the problems of our native american race.
I love you and miss you, grandpa
