MEDICAL PARTS
Roots most potent, also the seed heads.
USES
For colds, cold sores, as a topical antibiotic, sinus infections.Best and more effective when used with osha (chuchupate). But can be used aloneand is more palitable for children alone.
DOSES
Powdered is best used within a month. Cut up is only at it's best when used within a month. Best tinctured with pure grain alcohol and fresh roots cut up and placed in a jar or bottle for 3 weeks in a dark place. I would have to give individual instructions on how to tincture as there are two ways and somewhat lenghty. Use one to two droppers per glass of warm water for an adult every 4 hours, and 1/2 to 1 dropper per child every 4 to 5 hours. Powdered capsules can be taken 2 per adult every 4 to 5 hours. Use powdered or tinctured on wounds. Test tincture or pieces by placing on tongue and see if it tingles or numbs. If not, it is old.
