One sunny afternoon a little country girl was walking down the dusty road, thinking and daydreaming. She had always lived here in the country but always wished to find out what the city was about. She would dream of all the people and all the pretty clothes in the big stores. She never had a dress from a store as her Mamma always made hers. She sit on a big rock on the side of the road and began to day bream....

Dawn gazed lazily about the countryside, not taking in anything of particular. She sighed with wistful thoughts of the big city stores and all those people. Wondering what it would be like just to have one pretty dress to call all her own.
She smiled at what kind of dress she would, if she could, just one to wear for a special occasion. Dawn layed back on the big rock folding her arms under her head. While daydreaming she stared up into the blue sky with clouds forming different shapes and forms. The sky was accented of a bird with wide spread wings floating almost motionless letting the air-currents carry it in a huge circle.
Yawning sleepily with thoughts of a pretty dress lingered in her thoughts, the daydream turned into a nap on that big rock on the side of the dusty road. A dream began of the nearby city of bustling streets, loud noises, tall buildings, people everywhere. Stores lined up and down the block with dresses of all shapes and sizes, of different colors hanging on racks, in the picture windows with invitations to be taken home for little girls.

Then all of a sudden she caught the glimpse of an ole Woman walking down the side Walk, her hair was as white as snow, and she was dressed so odd, her clothes were made from  soft deer skin, and there was fringe hanging from her arms and at her feet, the front of her dress was decorated with shells and horse hair,  The little girl had never seen such a site, The ole Woman seemed to be so out of place in the hussle and bussel of the city. But the little girl had never seen such a beautiful dress as this

So she went over to the woman and ask where she got her clothes as she loved the way she was dressed. The old woman smiled at her and said, " My child. my clothes comes from the animal skins, as does all of of my peoples cloths  and we make them for ourselves and others. The shells come from the beaches and we string them for decorations and a lot more. I am a indian woman and I make all my clothes from things of our Mother Earth."
The little girl was in awe and was wanting to ask more questions but she felt that she must continue on her way...so she told the woman "goodbye " and walked on down the sidewalk.
Soon she saw a bunch of people  looking at clothes what was hanging on racks , out on the sidewalk. So she hurried to see what it was all about..............

she ran into the store to see what the hussle and bussle was all about, it turned out to be a new designer trend dress. and a real expensive one at that. she had just enough to buy the dress , but she couldnt help wondering about the woman outside in the dress made of deerskin. she was caught between learning more about the deerskin dress or having a fancy city dress all her own, she thought perhaps she should go have a bite to eat and relax and think about the situation....................

She ran out side but the woman was not there..she began to look around and hears some odd singing. She walked towards the sounds...and around the corner she saw the woman in the deerskin dress but there were more people dressed similar to her , there too. She looked at the woman...the woman smiled at her and motioned for her to come . Close by were young people singing in odd words but the beat of the music , she liked and it was hard for her little feet to stay still. The woman ask her if she would like to try on the dress...and took her behing the trailer so noone could see. When they came back, she was like a different person...her heart was beating to the beat of the music and so was her feet. It was if she could not stop.....and didnt want to.
