| Hi Gem, Well your fear about not being able to get back to your body.....when you have an OBE and your concentration slips......wham......your back in your body. There is nothing to be scared of.....it's a truly magnificent experieince.....everyone should try it! I don't know if you can actually see your spirit while doing this.......I expect you could if you came upon a reflective surface. I have noticed recently while doing meditation that I can actually feel my soul/spirit rising......at this point you have to stay relaxed or it just stops. I am eagerly trying to develop this as I feel there is so much to be learned from the experience. Was that all you asked Gem? | Hi John, Spirit, Well I can't say that I have heard any rattles but I have had a sort of electrical impulse before the seperation! It's sorta like the shiver on your skin you get, you know like sorta, hairs on the back of your neck standing up, only all up and down your body. A mild electric shock it feels like to me but not painful in any way just nice. It's very interesting reading about all the different things that people feel during these experiences don't ya think? | What LOVELY people you are! Thank you so very much for your replies to my: Is it a dream? And thank you too Butterfly for posting the topic: Astral Projection to further the discussion.. I'm learning so much and also feel that you are all giving me much needed support. What a huge relief it is for me to know that nothing bad was about to happen to me whilst beginning my OBE's. I've heard a little bit about OBE's but thought it only happened if a person was dying. I'm still alive and kicking folks. Smile! After reading all of your very interesting replies I have gleaned enough information and insight to help me make sense of what's going on. I am psychic (as we all are) and I'm told naturally mediumistic. It was only in February of this year that I have begun developing the mediumistic side. I have two friends that come and sit with me for an hour once a week. Also, I've done two one week courses at the AFC. In April I started training as a healer; I'm a probationary healer for the next two years. Having said all of that, and reflecting upon some of your comments, I now realise that perhaps it's my Spirit Guide's who are taking me to the other side on order that I may progress further. I remember being told by one of the tutors on one of my courses that becauese I'm naturally mediumistic and, because I have my moon in the sign of Pisces along with other astrological elements which give me strong pshycic/mediumistic faculties that once I develop I will ,as she put it 'fly.' I didn't realise that I would actually fly as in OBE's, ha ha! If, when, it happens again I will try and let go of my fear and go with it. If I do I will be sure to share the experience with you all. | Hi Feb (Sylvia), Well I'm so glad that you feel our shared experiences have helped you in some way. I'm looking through my stuff to see if there is anything I can post on the site about OBE's and maybe I'll put these experieinces in there in the hope that they will help others. I have been "flying" as far back as I can remember but didn't know until quite recently that it was infact "out of body". Hi Morningcloud, Thanks for posting one of your experiences and thank you for your very kind comments. Yip......we sure can talk and I found the conversation very interesting and enlightening. I'm very interested in OBE for the purpose of healing, whether it be physical or spiritual. By the way.....I also have a daughter named Victoria! John thankyou for this message. I have had a similar experience many times which I could not explain and thought I was going mad!! These 'experiences' usually happen when I go to bed but am not tired. I first feel really dizzy and then my body goes numb. With reference to the door handle noise, I usually hear a sound like someone running up my stairs(they creak!) which frightens me. Every time it has happened I know there is someone in my room, once a male person sat on my bed....no it wasn't my husband!! I felt like I had known him for ever and that he cared about me a great deal. When this happens the only way I can 'get out ' of it is to concentrate really hard and move a part of my body, at this point I seem to rush back to myself. Well this message board hasn't been used for a while, but it best describes what happens to me every time I get up and share my experience, strength and hope and a Alcoholic Anonymous meeting. I know that the God of my understanding uses me as a channel to share to story I need to give each time I do this. Several people have heard me speak twenty times, and they each say it is different. One special occasion around my birthday, at the end of March of this year, I felt like I was completely outside of myself, watching the whole thing. It was like I left my body and looked at the room and their reactions as to what I was say. It was like I was there, but I wasn't and had the most spiritual and uplifting feeling that I have ever had before. Another time, a gentleman, who has since past away was in the audience, and it was like my Spirit decided to play off him because this man had a big smile, a big laugh, and a joke for everyone. Today I know it was because he was hurting inside, and I suspected it then, but it was like the two of us were the only ones in the room. I went home to my friend and said, "Lorna, I was funny!" I was surprised at myself, and if anyone had heard me share on Sunday morning and on Tuesday evening, they wouldn't have known it was the same person talking. One awesome thing about it is that I know I am being "God" centered instead of "I" centered, and that I am not full of myself, but full of the Spirit. Love Always, Angel Jo  |

I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE YOU ALL SOMETHING TO READ ABOUT MAYBE TO KNOW ME ALITTLE BETTER, WHILST GOING INTO FORCED LABOUR WITH RAQUEL MY 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, GRIPPED WITH SHEER PAIN (I´M NOT ONE THAT CRIES EASILY) I WAS SAT DOWN ON A CHAIR INSTEAD OF BEING LAID ON THE BED SO AS TO DILETE QUICKER AS THEY HADN´T REALISED IN THE HOSPITAL THAT I HAD GONE INTO LABOUR HOURS EARLIER, MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN WITH SUFFERING AND COULD HAVE DIED AS WELL AS MYSELF, MY HUSBAND WAS SAT NEXT TO ME IN ANOTHER CHAIR AND I REMEMBER LOOKING INTO HIS FACE AND HEAR HIM TALKING AS IF ALL OF A SUDDEN I WAS GOING DEAF, I COULD SEE HIS LIPS MOVE BUT NOT HEAR HIM IN A FEW SECONDS AFTER I FELT SOMETHING COLD ON MY BACK , I FELT THAT I HAD MY EYES CLOSED, WHEN I OPENED THEM I WAS TOUCHING THE CEILING, LOOKING AT MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF BELOW, I HAD A FACE THAT LOOKED LIKE A GROTESK MASK OF SHEER PAIN, ALL OF A SIDDEN I SAW THE MIDWIFE FLYING OUT OF THE OFFICE RUNNING BACK INTO THE OFFICE ONLY TO COME OUT WITH A BOTTLE AND A BIG SERINGE??? SHE INJECTED THIS SUBSTANCE IN THE ITREVENUS DRIP I HAD IN MY ARM, I REMEMBER CRYING WHILST I FELT TRAPPED ON THE CEILING WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO MY BABY AND MY TWO BOYS, WHO´S GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THEM, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE MID WIFE SLAPPED MY FACE I SAW HER DO IT AND I FELT IT TOO, I CAME ROUND SURE ENOUGH AND SHE MADE ME STAND AND WALK TO THE LABOUR ROOM. SHE WAS CALLED MADALENA IF IT WASN´T FOR HER INSTINCKS MAYBE I WOULDN´T BE HERE TODAY, AS I DIDN´T KNOW HOW TO RETURN TO MY BODY, WHEN I EXPLAINED ALL OF THIS TO HER SHE SAID SHE HAD HEARD ME CALLING HER, MY HUSBAND TOLD ME IT WAS ALL NONSENSE THAT I COULDN´T TALK I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE A SOUND, I WILLED HER TO COME AND SHE HEARD ME, SHE TOLD ME I WAS INCHES FROM DYING. |

wow, that is an incredible story. My husband had a near death experience
similar, he was in a car accident and flew out of the window. he said that he
landed and felt nothing and suddenly heard a noise that he described as a train
passing through a tunnel. suddenly everything became very quiet and he was
floating over his body watching everything, but very passive like he didn't care
if he went back into his body or into the light. He heard someone calling out
"are ya;ll alright, is anyone hurt". at that instant he was back in his body
wracked with pain. He never told anyone cause he thought they would all think he
was crazy, but he knows that I believe and has told me. His friend died in the
wreck and he always asks himself why he was the one who lived. I told him
that perhaps his time wasn't up and he had more to do here on earth.

Hi there, folks, I just wanted to say that as a child I had numerous out of body experiences. They mostly happened at night and they didn't frighten me one bit. I would turn around and see my body lying on the bed and then I would just walk around the room playing with my dolls or go down stairs to be with the adults. My OBE's felt completely natural to me and I really enjoyed them. It was the only time I felt normal. One thing that used to fascinate me was my method of "locomotion" when moving around or going down the stairs. I often used to try to recreate the experience the following day, but could never understand why I couldn't get down the stairs without using my feet or my backside or whatever! I have had a few OBE's as an adult, but mostly they have been either when going under general anaesthetic or other treatment in hospital or when losing consciousness a couple of times. I also experienced a strange sensation of tilting upwards out of my body via my feet with my head remaining where it was - that was absolutely terrifying. As much as I enjoyed the experiences as a child, they would scare the hell out of me now. Best wishes, Mandy |

have had a couple of experiences once whilst under while having a tooth out vaguely remember looking down on myself whilst they were doing it. But the strangest wasnt me at all was my hubby on two occasions. First one he woke up and saw me sitting in chair looking at myself from a bedroom chair. The other he saw a little me he said coming out the back of my head and he shook me and it zoomed back in. He ses it was weird. Is that possible?? Pandorraxx |
