Some thoughts on the looming Federal Election that you won't hear in the 36%, 33%, 17% corporate media.
Two Heads, One Coin

Recently, Conservative politician Joe Clark warned Canadians about the barely-hidden agenda of Stephen Harper and his newly-rebranded Canadian Alliance Party. This is an agenda which closely mimics that of the Partnership For A New American Century, the group behind the new attitude in DC, one which can only be accurately described as Fascism. Rather than address these criticisms, Harper chose the path of Indignation and Ad Hominem attacks against Clark, both of these being Tactics of Disinformation, used by those who wish to avoid dealing with issues head-on.
While Clark was correct in attempting to warn Canadians, he suggested that the Liberals were the alternative Canadians should choose, ignoring the fact that its current leader, our unelected Prime Minister, Paul Martin, has his own barely-hidden agenda. His agenda is commonly referred to as Globalization, and is geared towards the aggrandizement and enrichment of multinational corporations, at the expense of the public interest. While he disguises his intent very well behind the rhetoric of “assistance?and “development? his ideology only directs what he calls help to areas where there’s a buck to be made.
The policies of the “Globalizers?(those who beat and gas their opponents on city streets, rather than addressing their concerns) actually make life harder for the average person, while employing economic blackmail against governments which do not surrender their nations?sovereignty, and resources, to the will of the multinational. Joseph Stiglitz, former Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund, said in his book, “Globalization And Its Malcontents?states that, while the architects of Globalization may not have initially intended their policies to harm the majority, their continued implementation in the face of overwhelming evidence of these harmful effects demonstrates malicious intent.
Domestically, Globalization is demanding the further destruction of the public sector, to be replaced by unaccountable private institutions, as well as the further commodification of vital resources like water. Under the leadership of these people, our healthcare system has been deliberately attacked, in the name of duping Canadians into seeing private health delivery as a positive.
Under Paul Martin’s watch as Finance Minister, Canada saw the highest rates of foreign takeovers in Canadian history. Our quality of living has plummeted from the highest in the world to eighth position, and still falling. Canada is now the most foreign owned industrialized nation on earth!
The agenda of both Harper and Martin involve further integration of the Canadian and American economies, not to mention the two nations?militaries and intelligence/law enforcement agencies. This is a disturbing trend, when the insanity of those currently in control of Washington is taken into account. With the war in Iraq, BSE, and now, Avian Flu, one must look no further than the past three years to see that we are already much too “integrated? to the point that our “leaders?are unable to speak their minds, and are relegated to nothing more than sycophants and yes-men.
When those leaders are Martin and Harper, however, one must wonder if they view this as a negative, or just the way they like it. There is another disturbing similarity between these two men, and that is their participation in the Bilderberg Group. Most Canadians are unaware of this connection, and have no idea what this organization is, thanks in large part to a corporate media unwilling to expose the group. (Even Robert Bishop of the CBC’s “The National?said “The group presents an investigative challenge, and not one that we are interested in pursuing at this time.? The Bilderberg is run by a secretive “steering committee?boasting members such as Henry Kissinger, and each year brings together leaders in media, industry, and politics of a certain persuasion, in secret, to discuss the agenda for the year ahead. Martin received his invitation in 1996, for his work in the area of privatization, and attended the group’s meeting at the CIBC Leadership Centre in Toronto.
Harper was invited to last year’s meeting, at the Palace Trianon in Versaille, after saying that if it had been up to him, young Canadians would be dying beside their American neighbours, as part of the illegal war of aggression against Iraq. Harper actually went to far as to write a letter to President Bush, apologizing on behalf of Canada, and in an appearance on Rupert Murdoch’s Fox News, actually stated that “a silent majority?of Canadians supported Bush’s aggression. (Right-wing Extremists love to talk about an imaginary “silent majority?they claim supports their work ? This disturbingly brings us much too close to the American system of two-parallel-party rule, this year’s race down south being run by two fellow members of a secret society called Skull & Bones.
This means that if either the Neo-Liberals or Neo-Conservatives, win, and the other becomes its Opposition, we will essentially have members of the same group, who take their orders from the same people, sitting on either side of the table, pretending to represent the will of Canadians. Whether or not he intended to do so, Joe Clark’s words guided Canadian voters towards a non-choice.
If Canadians want real change, they are not going to get the change they desire from either of the mainline conservative parties, and should try looking elsewhere, like in the NDP, Greens, or the Canadian Action Party.
I don’t believe any of these are perfect solutions, but they take power away from those who have sent our country into a downward spiral for the past ten years, and as far as I’m concerned, that is a great place to start.
Now, I like the Greens, and believe the ideas of the Canadian Action Party would revitalize the sovereignty and prosperity of our country like never before, but neither of them currently carries the weight needed to succeed in a Federal Election. (And this is different than the media’s incessant prattling about the impossibility of an NDP win ?a very effective tactic of Psychological Manipulation.)
I think at this point, voting for either one would simply be vote-splitting that only profits the Right. I think Canadians aching for change should throw their support behind the NDP, and save the Greens and CAP for the next time ‘round. I just hope they won’t be blinded by Harper’s PR, and end up electing him out of anger with Martin.
The media has certainly gone out of its way to help the Neo-Cons in this area. The media which is also filled with Bilderberg members ?/STRONG> On the other hand, if you’ve enjoyed the direction this country has taken over the past ten years, then by all means, vote for the people you think will keep this trend going.
And I wish you and all your employees the very best in the years ahead.
Proud Canadians will not sell out!
