Reality Check: Buyer Beware: Voters Denied Full Knowledge of Alliance-Conservative Views
The Issue:
In a score of ridings across Canada, Alliance-Conservative candidates have refused to participate in all-candidate debates, have refused media interviews or have been silenced by the national campaign.
Reality Check:
Voters in the following ridings were denied the right to question their local candidates:
1. Abbotsford ?Randy White misses environmental debate with David Anderson.
2. Kootenay-Columbia ?Jim Abbott, Conservative culture critic, refuses to discuss cultural issues with national media.
3. Edmonton Spruce Grove ?Rona Ambrose misses forum on the Enoch Reserve and did not participate in forum organized by the Regional Chief for the Assembly of First Nations.
4. Edmonton-Sherwood Park ?Ken Epp is a no-show at debate organized by high school students after confirming his attendance the night before.

Under a Conservative Party policy, candidates were forced to sign an agreement forbidding them from criticizing the leader or the campaign. The party also silenced several candidates ?Cheryl Gallant, Scott Reid, Art Hanger, Myron Thompson, and others ?to ensure their points of view were not shared with voters again during the campaign.
Canadians should remember to “beware?when they vote on Monday ?who knows what the Conservative Party of Canada really represents.
