Its about people. Its about looking at the seething mass of humanity and knowing why your Here .... if you don't know, have you asked? Who did you ask? yourself, your fellow man or your gods? Or have you created a purpose in and of your life? one of goals and dreams? Its a hard question ... one that not everyone can or wants to answer, even to themselves. We talk to each other all the time ... on the phone, instant messenges, here on the boards ... a group of individuals sharing interests, ideas and opinions (lots of them). The fact that we treat each other as friends with courtesy and respect, even when in total opposition says a lot about the people in this group. In fact, twice this month I have found myself having to step to Betwixt's defence in matters of both religion and politics ... why? because I value your feedback on the world we live in, in all its aspects. I look amoung you and see philosophers, healers, warriors, poets, scientists, musicians, guides, humanitarians, historians, activists and seekers ... so much of what makes humanity worthwhile is in this community. Thank you :o) I'm glad your here. Sometimes we've spoken from the heart, shared knowledge or just passed around a bit of fun ... but its the fact that we are here together that prompts me to ask you the question of "Why are you here in this Life?" just hanging around existing comfortably until its time to check out or do you have a goal? Where is your life path leading you? Do you want to make a difference in something, somewhere? |

What a neat question Red. Difficult and soul searching... but a groovy question none the less. I guess one of my reasons for my being here is generally to try to "make things better for people" I know that sounds like something very vague, but its true in many aspects in my life. My job is in the medical profession and I help people there in finding out what's wrong so the doctor can perhaps heal them. I also am there to comfort people, perhaps provide a little humor to a sick person or to educate them in their disease process. I've also tried to make things better for my children. Essentially since birth, I have tried to teach them how to be independant and self sufficient. Sometimes they are frustrated because I make them be so independant, ie, they wash their own laundry, and cook a great deal of their own food and they have a number of other chores and as they get older, the lists grow bigger... BUT they are learning to be independant. Sometimes that independance comes back and bites me in the ass though, as they are still teenagers and have to endure 'Mom's rules' and they butt heads with me... A small price to pay though if you think about it. When they are 18 years old, they can go out on their own, and know how to live life and make it on their own.. If only they would enjoy doing their homework and appreciate that quest for knowledge a little more. I've also become very politically active in the past several months and I will probably remain politically active for the remainder of my life. I truly believe that a democratic path is needed to help the masses in this country. I have mourned over the loss of so many house positions to republicans and of course the seeming loss of John Kerry. I think this nation as a whole would benefit from the democratic to midline viewpoint more so than the ultra conservative right wing that has taken over this country. The Bible reading. god (and terrorist) fearing, don't read the newspapers, people really need to be brought into a light, instead of aimlessly following the Republicans like sheeple. Heck, maybe someday I will even run for town council or something like that? It also kills me to see friends grieving or angry, or ill or just bummed out and I really really hope that I can help my friends just by being there to listen, in case they want to vent. My spirituality is something I am still exploring and learning and some may think I am losing my focus because I try to 'prove' aspects of paganism with known scientific fact. Though I believe paganism is the right spiritual niche for me, I would LOVE to somehow prove synchonicity, or to show proof that someone doing astral projection can actually break the bonds of their human body and go somewhere else. Wouldn't it be cool to, without a shadow of a doubt, proove that there are spirits all amoung us? My goals may seem trivial to some, or foolish or unwise to others but they are my goals. peace mj |

Definitely an excellent question,
Red...
Thinking about how to answer it, an old
maxim came to mind to "bloom where you're planted"...it sums up my own feeling
that fate/karma/synchronicity have me where I am, what I am, to affect the world
around me and in a positive way whenever possible. I have always wanted my
life to be an ongoing process of discovery and to make a difference--it would
seem a waste of a precious gift to simply coast from the cradle to the grave
to be otherwise.

Ahh, the big questions. You know I used to have different answers but they change. For today... "Why are you here in this Life?" Because my parents had a child. just hanging around existing comfortably until its time to check out or do you have a goal? No goals other than to learn and experience new things as often as I can. Where is your life path leading you? Don't know, don't care. More interested in the journey than the destination. And trying my hardest to take the most scenic and longest route getting there. Do you want to make a difference in something, somewhere? If I can bring a smile to someone's face I have done all I need to do. Wants? Well, we all have wants. Right now, I'd just like to make sure the planet exist in somewhat the same condition or better for my heirs. oh, and a positive difference in my bank account would be good.... |

My goal is the abolishment of seperation. For one day everyone to be able to experiance a state of being where there is no differance between their flesh and their enviroments. The barriers of Universal Subconsciouss to be abolished so that everyone may experiance one another on a scale of unimaginable connectivity. Thats really the only way I can see to end the misery which is plaugeing the Earth atm.
Unfortunetly, I'm finding it difficult to be able to see this all happen within my lifetime. Humanity just simply could not hanndle such a connection. There would be those who would interprit it as a sign that they must purge all malicious or synchronis thoughts upon various things by means of genocide, suicide bombings, etc. Those who would simply not be able to accept such sensations and go absolutely insane with the thought of stopping it, possibly by means of mass homicide. These are both extremes, though they can be seen on various degrees, all of which would be counter productive to the true goal of barrier dissolusion.
I don't give up hope though. I'm still trying to come up with ways to accomplish this goal. Someday, it will be accomplished I know. What I'm hopeing is that it comes about willingly and peacefully rather then by necessity though harsh conditions and possible human extinction. Even though the time for that will come as well, sooner then later I'm afraid :(
