I sometimes cook in large batches and freeze them, then  unthaw what I need. I have 10 birds ,so it kind of helps to prepare a batch. Sometimes I'll find a new recipe I want to try out and I'll cook that up for the day. I depends on how busy I am. Nan

Aww they are such sweet little guys. You should start an album, we love to see all the birds people have on here!
Keets need more than seeds though, thy need greens and other veggies. The sneakiest way I found to get them to eat veggies is to mix seeds on the food you want them to eat. Roll seeds in a small piece of sweet potato, or sprinkle some on mixed frozen veggies ( unthawed).
Congrats on your new baby! Nan

I usually make it in batches and thaw as needed but like you Nan, sometimes I cook something up for them. They love eggs and toast and other things you can't freeze. I also add fresh stuff to the thawed mixture like apples, cucumbers, etc. They eat alot better than I do. I've not been able to get my keet to even try anything but seed. I may try some of the things you mentioned. Peggy

I cook up a batch of cauliflower, broccli, carrots and brown rice.  They get that and we add chicken, boiled egg and a host of other stuff as we serve it.  Also I make them wraps with it.

About once a week I cook corn muffins with mixed veggies, hot dried red peppers and calcium supplement or egg shells in them. Freeze them and thaw one at a time.
Daily they get thawed frozen mixed veggies, one fruit, one green leafy, plus pasta and beans or cooked chicken or egg.
I am cutting way back on the volume I feed. I have always overfed and have to throw away as much as they eat. Now I am cutting the volume to about a quarter cup per bird and still have a few pieces left when they are done eating.

Annie,
I'm guilty of over feeding too. I have also cut back on how much goes into the bowl. I've read somewhere if you put too much in the bird's appetite ( or other species of animal) is diminshed. Nan
