We are having an almost summer like day outside as it was 70 degrees earlier today.
I have been having world class migraines and we are now trying another preventitive, and pain meds. He gave me samples of the pain meds in case they didn't work ( they work pretty well), and something stronger if nothing else works. After that is is ER time and a couple of visits to Omaha ( which while it is more painful of a ride up it is cheaper than visiting the ER even throwing in
gas!) and I'm sick of it.
The workers are now getting ready to do the inside part of the bird room and things are moving along. We should start getting ready for windows and siding soon.
Have a Hsppy April Fools Day and Saturday. ~Nan who is discontinued til further notice~

Where is everyone? It has been awfully quiet on the message boards. I get my cast off 2 weeks from this up coming Wed. Finally I will be able to walk w/out cruches. I got a really cool job. It is with ABC ( Alcohol Beverage Control ) and what I do is I ride with an undercover cop and we go to gas stations and little country stores, and I try to get them to sell me cigarettes and alcohol. If they do, they get arrested. Also I'm working in my mom's law office on Tuesday from 12:00-5:00pm. I'm trying to make money so I can get my rabbit spayed. It will cost around 350.00 to get her spayed. Crazy huh?

Sheesh, Nanners ... I'm sure glad that you qualified that it was your pug, Abby, who just about barked herself hoarse! I'd hate anyone to think that it might have been ME who was barking! I sure hope you're soon feeling well enough to post some more pictures of your various projects, Nanners.

Toolady was in chat last night for a while, and it was such a treat to see her! She's finally got her computer sort of working, so hopefully we'll see her around a bit more. Toolady, if you see this, I just want you to know how much I miss you around here!!

I'm sure glad it's Friday ... this has been an extra long week for some reason.

Megan, it sounds as if you're really having some interesting times!

See you all around the boards!

Yes I'm getting busy. But not to busy that I won't have time for tiki or sophie or ronson. I bought tiki a new perch today. 16 inches long. That is the longest perch she has and she likes it alot. And guess what it was only 3.99. Yeah go me, I find the cheap goddies!!!!! She needs to go to the vet and get them nails trimmed before she claws the skin off my arm. I'm just waiting to get out of this dern cast. I'm going to have a got my cast of party, and mom is (says) going to take me to the flea market. I'm thinking of getting Tiki a smaller cage. It would be so much better than the macaw size cage she has. I will have more room in my room and cleaning would be easier. But I don't know how she would like it if she got a new smaller cage. The cage she has is big enough for 2 macaws! I have seen some cages in petsmart i'm liking. They are pretty good priced to. Around 500.00. But I just don't know if she would like a smaller cage ( I would ), but I rather her be happy. Even if that means I have to give up more than half my room for her and her HUGE cage. Well I'm outy for the night. Got to get some beauty sleep. TTEL ( talk to everyone later )

Hi all, just checking in for April.  Still here and still waiting to hear word from the breeder about a baby Hahn's.  Still nothing, although she says they've been 'busy'.  Just wait til I get one, I'll have all kinds of questions for you all!

Hope its warming up where you are, its taking forever here, lol.  We still have LOTS of snow on the ground.

April is progressing as April always does.  Hubby and I "celebrated" our 44th anniversary on the 7th.  We usually go out for supper on our big day but this time I had just gotten staples out of my neck a few days before and still can't eat like a civilized human being, so we stayed home.  Will do a raincheck on a lobster.

Yesterday, I took #1 gray to the vet for a beak trim.  We got to talking about my recent surgeries and he mentioned that he had found a lump in his neck a few days ago.  He's going to the same doctor who took care of my problems.  Anyway, he told me that it's obvious that I have full motor function in my face, even though it is numb and tingling and my neck looks awful and I hate to be seen in public.  It will take weeks or even months for things to return to normal, he said.  I got more info from the vet than from the surgeon.  The next time someone says "surgery" to me, I'm going to tell them that I want to confer with my vet first.

Is it just me or are some of the regulars around here AWOL?  I really miss their informative replies and fun banter.  And Toolady has got to get that darn computer fixed!

Have a blessed Good Friday, Passover, and/or Easter, and any other religious event ~ according to your faith.

I'm going Tuesday to the doctor to get my leg/foot x-rayed. If it looks good the doctor said I could take the cast off and walk on my foot w/o crutches. So pray for me everyone. I want and need to get out of this cast asap!!! Wes. tiki and sophie (rabbit) are getting there nails trimmed at the vet. Well everyone have a good Easter. I'm making an Easter basket for a small dog breed rescue. They need leashes and collars so I'm buying some tommorrow along with treats and toys for the puppies. 20.00 bucks goes a long way in the dollar store . I might even look for some baby toys for tiki.

It's hard to believe that it's only mid-April because the temperatures have been up to near 90 on several days.  With a mild breeze and low humidity, it's been simply wonderful.  Makes me wonder, though, what it's going to be like in July, August, and September ~~ when the humidity is about equal to the temperature.

I've noticed a group of new folks on the forum.  That's great!  Am still looking for some of the regulars, though.

The nerves in my tongue and neck, which were rudely mistreated during my two recent surgeries, are regenerating.  This gives me a feeling that is comparable to fingernails across a blackboard.  I'm wondering how many more weeks (or will it be months?) of this nonsense lie ahead.  Am eternally thankful that the cancer is gone so this side effect is minor in comparison.

Hope that you and your flock are happy, healthy, and enjoying spring to the fullest.

Where is everyone?? Does everyone have a life but me? lol  Friday night, and all is quiet.

It was a beautiful, warm sunny day here. Hopefully it is the first of many more to come. Still cools down really fast as soon as the sun goes down though.

The birds are all well, as am I. I spent today at workshops, as it was a ProD day (Professional Development) where I work. It was really interesting, as well as being fun putting some faces to people I talk to on the phone frequently but never meet. I almost didn't go as I have a ton of work on my desk, but decided that I'd take a couple of hours over the weekend to go in and lower the piles a bit. I can get so much done so quickly when there are no people or phones to interrupt me.

My boss and his wife are holidaying in San Antonio, so there's been a lot of extra for me to deal with in his absence. He's back on Tuesday, so I want everything to be in order for his return.

I hope the quietness on the boards means that you are all out enjoying yourselves! Please stop in and tell me what a great time you are having! lol

Abby

Fun? Vacation? What are those?
We have had all kinds of weird weather so far this month. Everything from near freezing lows to highs up to around 90°F. Humidity's been all over the place too. We got several heavy T'storms yesterday, and it's gorgeous today. Sunny, but 74°F now and supposed to get up in the low 80's with a light  breeze. Of course, my migraines to have been coming and going with the weather, etc... so I can sympathize with those of you who suffer from them as well. Sure wish we could do away with the migraine fairy forever!
I've seen all kinds of birds already today...  Robins, Blue Jays, Nuthatch, Cardinals, Hummingbirds, Red-headed woodpeckers, Carolina Wrens, Red-tailed hawk.. I've heard but didn't see a Red-Winged Blackbird, and I think a different woodpecker..
One Bluejay sat and watched me in the kitchen for a while as I was scrubbing and refilling bird water bottles and bowls.
I guess I need to get off here and get busy... I have kitchen to clean, laundry to do, and cages to scrub. Never ending housework... gotta love it! NOT.

Well hopefully in the next two weeks everything will be finished, and I can move the birds into their new cage room and get their old room ready with thier jungle gyms and perchs.

We have some book cases due from the furniture store and then we'll be ready to finish up. Of course getting all those books back in order is going to be  a challenge.
Well I need to finishe making up some Mike's Manna Mash for the gang. Hope everybirdy had a good weekend! Nan
