My Documents is a good place to keep your files. But having it right there on your desktop makes it really easy for a snoop!

It's easy to remove the My Documents folder from your desktop. When you do that, only the desktop link to the folder is deleted. The My Documents folder is still accessible in Windows Explorer and off the Start button. Here's how:

In Windows XP:
-- Right-click the desktop. Click Properties.
-- Select the Desktop tab and click Customize Desktop.
-- Deselect My Documents. Click OK.

In Windows 98 and Windows ME:
-- Click Start>>Programs>>Accessories>>Windows Explorer.
-- Click Desktop. Right-click My Documents.
-- In Windows 98, click Delete. Click Yes.
-- In Windows ME, click Remove from Desktop. Click OK.
