Purpose Driven Life
Day 3
Very Long
I observed that the basic motive for success is the diving force of envy and jealousy! Ecclesiastes 4:4(LB)
The Man w/o a purpose is like a ship w/o a rudder -- a waif. a nothing a  no man (Thomas Carlyl)
Everyone's life is driven by something
Drive: to guide, to control, or to direct...
What is the driving force in your life?
Right now you may be driven by a problem, a pressure, or a deadline. you may be driven by a painful memory, a haunting fear, or an unconscious belief.

Many are driven by guilt-guilt driven people are manipulated by memories - they are often unconsciously punishing themselves by  or sabotaging their own success

We are a product of our past but we don't have to be prisoners of it

What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven... what relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record Psalms 32:1 (LB)

Many ppl are driven by resentment and anger - hold on hurts never getting over them instead of releasing their pain through forgiveness

Some resentment - driven ppl clam up - internalize while others blow up both are unhealthy

Resentment always hurts you more then it does the person you resent

LISTEN: Those who have hurt you in the past cannot continue to hurt you now unless you hold on to the pain

Bible Says: "To worry yourself to death with resentment would be foolish senseless things to do " Job 5 : 2 (TEV)

Many ppl are driven by fear -
fear - by traumatic experience
by unrealistic expectation
by growing up in an high controling home
genetic disposition

many play it safe

"well formed love banishes fear - since fear is crippling a fearful life fear of death fear of judgement is one not yet  fully formed in love  1 John 4 : 18 ( MSG)

Many ppl are driven by materialish - acquires become the whole goal of their lives. misconceptsions that more will make you happy. I will be more important self woth and nt woth are not the same

Real security can only be found in that which can never be taken from you... your relationship with God....

Many ppl are driven by need of approval ... expectation of parents... spouses... children... teachers... friends... control their lives... many adults are still trying to earn the approval of unpleased parents.

others are driven by peers pressure. unfortuantely  those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it...

Don't know all the keys to success but one key to failure is to try to please everyone

"NO ONE CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS" matt 6:24 (NLT)
5 Benefits of Purpose Driven living

1.  Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life, when  life has meaning you can bear almost any thing whit out it nothing is bearable

2. Knowing your purpose simplifies your life.  does this activity help me fulfill one of God's purpose for my life?
" a pretenteous, showy life is and  empty a plain and simple life is a full life proberbs 13:7 (MSG)
it also leasds to a peace of mind

"the Lord give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put thier trust in you" Isaiah 26:3 (Tev)

3 Knowing your purpose focuses your life>

"don't live careless unthiningly making sure you understand what the master wants " Ephesians 5:17 (MSG)

4. Knowing your purpose motives your life .. Purpose always produces passion nothing energizes lie a clear purpose.

5. Knowing you pupose prepare you for eternity. many try to spend their life trying to make a lasting legacy to be remembered... when they are gone. but what matters... is not what others say about you but what God Says ....

"given enough time, all your trophies will be trashed by someone else
you were put  here to prepare for eternity

God will Ask two Qeustions?
What did you dow with my SON? JESUS CHRIST? meaning did you accept HIM and did you spread it...

what did you do with what I gave you? meaning your talents? and your gifts... and other things ...  good things to think about

DAY 3
Thinking about My purpose
PTP living on purpose is the path to peace
VTR " you lord give perfect firm and put their trust in you I saiah 26:3 (TEV)
QTC What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life , What do I want it to be?

Continuing 40 day challenge....

Day 3:  What Drives Your Life?

Everyone's life is driven by something. Most dictionaries define the verb drive as "to guide, to control, or to direct." Whether you are driving a car, a nail, or a golf ball, you are guiding, controlling, and directing it at that moment. What is the driving force in your life?

This forty-day journey will show you how to live a purpose-driven life--a life guided, controlled, and directed by God's purposes. Without a purpose, life is motion without meaning, activity without direction, and events without reason.

There are five great benefits of living a purpose-driven life: Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life, simplifies your life, focuses your life, motivates your life. And knowing your purpose prepares you for eternity.

Many people spend their lives trying to create a lasting legacy on earth. Yet, what ultimately matters most will not be what others say about your life but what God says. In college James Dobson's goal was to become the school's tennis champion. He felt proud when his trophy was prominently placed in the school's trophy cabinet. Years later, someone mailed him that trophy. They had found it in a trashcan when the school was remodeled. Jim said, "Given enough time, all your trophies will be trashed by someone else!" Living to create an earthly legacy is a shortsighted goal. A wiser use of time is to build an eternal legacy. You weren't put on earth to be remembered. You were put here to prepare for eternity.

Day 3

my take on it....

Five drivers

1.Guilt- running from regrets manipulated by memory  ( well I relate to this... big time... I have been driven by guilt.... from my memories... and knowing that I need to give them to HIM to take the memories... and throw them into the sea of forgetfulness.... )

W.O.W.- Wonderful Obvious Wording

"We are products of our past, but we don't have to be prisoners of it... WOW

God turned moses -murderer into leader
Gedeon - coward - into courageous hero

there are many more to name

2. Resentment & Anger - Never Releasing pain through forgivenss hmmm something Charlie(Anclar) said !!! reherse it over and over in thier mind some clam up or internalize while others blow up both are unhealthy and unhelpful....

"to worry yourself to death with resentment would be a foolish, senseless thing to do job 5:2 (TEV)
when I read that .... I got to thinking about the fact that I had resentment.. about what has happened in my past... and that I had to deal with things... in my life... and I need to deal with this... and I need to deal with all this...
please ... Lord help me... thanks

3 fear from trauma unrealistic expectations growing upon high control home well ( well there is many thngs to this....

you must move against it with the weapons of faith and love... and when I read that.. I got to thinking to be faith based not fear based...

4 materialism something that I don't deal with.... although I am a pack rat....  but I do know that I do have to deal with wanting to be in all the groups all the time... LOL... and that I want to be in all the places at one time... sooooo... I guess.. maybe I am .....  but it is true...

your real security can only be found in that which cn never be taken from you

that is the relationship with God

5 Need of approval " no one serving two masters matt 6:24 well that one is really good....

5 great benifits of purpose driven liven
1 knowing your pupose gives meaning to yoru life
2. knowing your pupose simplifies your life
3. knowing your purpose focuses your life
4. knowing your purpose motives your life
5. knowing your purpose prepares your for eternity

you were not put on this earth to be remembered but to be prepared for eternity

two impotan question God will ask
1 what did you do with my son Jesus Christ * I accepted him in my heart December 3 2003 and there are other things to think about... and I know that...

2. What did you do with what I gaveyou? talents gifts oppurtunits energy relationships (UGH) resources God gave you
with all that did you spend them on yourself or use them for the purpose God made you for? wow... when I got to think about that... it was like wow...

DAY 3 - WHAT DRIVES YOUR LIFE?

The Bible says "To worry yourself to death with resentment, would be a
senseless, foolish thing to do"  JOB 5:2 (TEV)

Fear is a self-imposed prison that will keep you from becoming what God
intends for you to be.  You MUST move against with the weapons of faith
and love.  The Bible says "Well-formed love banishes fear.  Since fear is
crippling, a fearful life - fear of DEATH, fear of JUDGMENT - is one not
yet fully formed in love.  (l John 4: 18) (Msg)

Many people are driven by materialism .... based on the misconceptions
that having more will make me more happy, more secure.  .... Possessions
only provide TEMPORARY happiness ...we eventually become bored
with them ....  God says the most valuable things in life are not things ....
most common myth about money is having more will make me more secure ...
it won.'t.  Real security can only be found in that which can never be taken
from you - your relationship with God.  Wealth can be lost instantly through
a variety of factors.

NEED FOR APPROVAL:  ... always worried about what others might think.
The greatest tragedy is not death but life without purpose .... Hope is as
essential to your life as air and water.  (NB.  I agree with this %100 - May).

There are other forces that can drive your life but all lead to the same dead-
end..... unused potential, unnecessary stress and an unfulfilled life.

"I know what I am planning for you ....I have good plans for you, plans
not to hurt you.  I will give you hope and a good future".  Jeremiah 29:11

(NB I think it VERY IMPORTANT that we grasp that God does not plan
to HURT us).

God .... is able to do far more than we would be prepared to ask or even
dare to dream of .....infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts
or hopes.  Ephesians 3:20

It is impossible to do everything people want you to do.  You have just
enough time to do God's Will.  If you can't get it all done that means you
are doing more than what God intended for you to do.  The apostle Paul
almost single handedly spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire.
His secret was a focussed life.  "I am focussing all my energies on this
one thing.  Forgetting the past and looking forward to the future ahead"
Phillipians 3:13 Lets keep focussed on that goal, those of us who want
everything God has for us.  Philipians 3:15

"It's not about you.  It's about God".  What would my family and friends
say is the driving force in my life?  My computer, my mum, my family
and friends, and God.  What do I want it to be?  God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.

Jesus is in the driving seat of my car.  What is the driving force in my life?
GOD.  What did you do with my Son, Jesus Christ?  I loved Him with
my whole heart.  I tried to let Him transform me.  What did you do with
what I gave you?  Published poetry, help others, love a lot, prayed for
others, spread the Good News, studied His Word.

Many people are driven by fear... they often miss great opportunities because
they're afraid to venture out, instead they play it safe, avoiding risks and
trying to maintain the status quo.

Did you accept what Jesus did for you and did you learn to love and trust
Him?  I must learn to trust God more.
