Well most of you know what the eye doc told me so this week I went to my PCP and told him about my meds making me sick, he of course gave me another new one to try, ugh. My insurance pays for it but my co-pay is $50, I don't think so. Then I told him about my day care kids leaving and he finally said after 4 years of this crap "call social security and start the paper work"; it is the first time he has even mentioned it. So Monday I am calling and finally going for it, I am of course scared to death of all the horror storys but i'll give it a shot. The worst thing that happened though; my sheltie of over 13 yrs. passed away. She got sick and fell down the back steps, I took care of her for three days but then Tuesday she could not even pick up her head off the floor. I still hadn't got my check from the agency that pays my day care clients so no money for a vet shot to put her down for 100.00, my dh was on his way to take her to his fathers in the country to put her down and she passed in the car on the way up. I feel bad I did not hold her until she went but I had all day and think she would have just held on for me. It was in her eyes. I miss her so bad it isn't funny, I cannot even close my eyes and I see her looking at me and I cry. I know she is in a better place though one without pain; something we all wish for. I just pray she doesn't hate me for not being with her till the end. I sure hope this weekend goes better, lol. I hope you all have a good weekend too. Kim |

When we loose a pet we've has a long time like that it's like loosing a part of ourselves. They're so loyal and they love without asking for anything back in return. Dogs are especially that way. Cats can be so strange that I understand they there are people who don't like them. I happen to love cats, but I know they're not for everyone. But dogs... who doesn't love a dog? I hope you feel better. Know we'll be keeping you in our prayers, hon. Hugs and lots of love, Dan |

Kim, don't give up on getting disability, sometimes it takes several tries. I'm so sorry about your dog. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. They wrap theirselves around our hearts. She knew you loved her, they always do. i had to hold my dog Gizmo, she was 14 and had cancer and was paralyzed in her hind quarters when they put her to sleep. Believe me it doesn't make it easier. Hope you will be feeling better soon. lots of love gramanan |

Oh, Kim, I'm SO sorry you lost your dog after having her for so long. At least she was spared the indignity of being "put down" by your father-in-law. And of course she knew you loved her! How could she not? You took care of her for 13 years! Animals seem to have a sense when their time is up, and they're much more accepting of it than humans are. I truly believe you will see her again in the next life; I believe all well-loved pets go to heaven and join us there again. It is the only thing that lets me ever get another pet. May God heal your heart, and take good care of your loved sheltie.

Dear Kim, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your shelty. It is so sad when it is time for them to go. She had a long life with someone who obviously loved her very much, you did all you could for her. I think it's not fair that we love our pets so much and they don't live a long life . Just remember she's not in pain anymore. I hope you have good luck with disability. I wasn't allowed ssi because I didn't work enough hour and didn't have enough $ taken out even though I worked there for 29 years!! I'm trying to find out if I can get any kind of assistance with insurance through medicaid?? Well just wanted to say I'm sorry and you will be in my prayers. Jeannie |

Kim: I'm so sorry you lost your beloved pet. We've had dogs all of our married life....and have lost them all...except for BJ, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. But we will take care of him, just the way we took care of all of our other furry friends. And you took great care of your sheltie, too...she knew that you loved her to the end. I know it was hard having her pass away like that, but it was probably 'her way' of going to the great dog pound in the sky. I'm so sorry for your loss! Take care....and good luck with the social security benefits. Hope you get them quickly....and easily! Hugz, Dee |
